This a/n is very important- it has to do with my updating!

so my job requires me to work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day (kill me now plz). so that means I won't have too much time to write and so I won't be able to update as much. I'm really sorry! Also, my school starts August 27th, so that'll make it even harder. but when school starts, they'll cut back my hours at work so maybe I could write a lot :) I can also write on my lunch as well maybe! so there's that! enjoy the chapter! ❤️love you guys!

Thursday
9:30 am

I didn't go to school for two days, just to avoid everyone's whispering and Jack; I didn't want to talk to him, yet I did at the same time. I'm just too embarrassed to even think straight.

Once Tracy heard about it she basically laughed at me, telling me she saw it coming. Such a great sister, right? We got into another physical fight, only to have it be broken up by my parents- who weren't very delighted to see their only two daughters pulling each other's hair out.

Yet, now I'm back at school since my parents told me I couldn't miss anymore days of school or I'd be grounded.

"Hey, Mrs. Eleanor?" I stand right in front of her desk and she peers up at me through her glasses.

"Yes, Marina?" Her little voice sounds so quiet and fancy, it almost makes me feel like I'm talking to the Queen of England.

"I was wondering if there was any homework I missed Tuesday and Wednesday?"

"Oh, Jack didn't give you the worksheets?" She asks.

"Jack who?"

"Gilinsky, he offered to take them to you when I asked."

"Oh," I swallowed huge lump in my throat and awkwardly stared at the clock above her desk. "Does he still have them?"

"I would hope so."

"Okay, I'll ask him for them." I lie and she nods, smiling at me. "Thank you, I'll see you fourth period." I wave at her as I exit the classroom. I'll just ask Johnson to get them for me.

I walked towards the stairs, making my way to his locker to see if he's there- which he is.

"Johnson!" I trot over to him as soon as he closes the locker door.

"Hey! You finally showed up to school." He smiles and I laugh.

"Yeah, sadly." I playfully roll my eyes and fix my backpack strap, "But I was wondering if you could possibly get my homework for me? Jack has it and I don't want to get it from him myself."

"Marina," He sighs. "You should at least let him explain this to you."

"Fuck no." I squish my eyes brows together and shake my head, "But could you please get them for me?" I whine.

"I guess." He lets out a breath and I thank him.

"Can you just bring them to me after school? Meet me by my car."

"Alright." He nods and starts towards his next class.

12:15 pm
Fourth period

"Hello." Mrs. Eleanor says and everyone greets her, minus a few in the back. "Please pass up your homework from last night." She smiles and walks over to the first row of people.

I reach behind me, waiting for the person to hand me all the worksheets- but it never happens.

"Hey-" I spin around in my seat and spot Jack. Really?

"Hey." He awkwardly smiles and I make an annoyed face.

"I need the worksheets." I put my hand out and he gives them to me.

"Homework?" Mrs. Eleanor asks me and I put them in her palm. "Thank you."

"Marina." Jack taps my shoulder, but I stay facing towards the front of the classroom. "Marina, please."

Shut up.

"I didn't mean for everything to end up like this." He says in a sad tone and my heart almost breaks.

"Then you shouldn't have told anyone, Jack." I say loud enough for him to hear.

"I know, I know but I-"

"Okay! Now let's get on with today's lesson!" Mrs. Eleanor interrupts Jack and I mentally thank her.

Jack sighs and leans back in his chair, running his hand through his thick hair.

2:15 pm

I unlock my car with the button on my keychain, then stand by it to wait for Johnson with my homework. I hope he doesn't something stupid like tell Gilinsky to bring them to me.

I don't think he understands that I'm just not ready, or in the mood, to hear what Gilinsky has to say about what he did. All he's going to do is deny it or say sorry over a thousand times on hopes that I'll forgive him- which I won't. He took my privacy and told everyone about it. What and asshole.

"Hey." Johnson comes from nowhere and it makes me jump a little.

"Hey, do you have my papers?" I ask and he gives me a sympathetic look. "Don't say anything about him, I don't want to hear it." I huff and he ignores my comment, reaching into his backpack and pulling out my homework.

"Thank you." I smile and take it from him. "Do you need a ride home?"

"Nah, I got my car back."

"Nice, I want to see the paint job!" I say excitedly and he lightens up a little.

"It's right over here." He gestures across the parking lot and I see the shiny, black car stand out from all the others.

"Damn, that's nice!"

"Thanks, I would hope so for six thousand dollars." He chuckles and plays with his keys.

"Have fun with that thing." I grin at him and he tells me he will. "Thanks for my stuff, and not having me get it from the other Jack."

"Yeah." He nods, "But you should let him have at least five minutes to explain-"

"Bye, Johnson." I interrupt him and scurry to the driver's side of my car.

I hear him heavily sigh and mumble a goodbye.
