My phone ringing and vibrating phone awakens me from my sleep and I instantly sit up. Sighing, I lazily grab it and pull it off the charger to check the message.

Marina, I've been trying to talk to you for a few weeks now and you always seem to find a way to ignore me and leave. I just wanted to tell you that I'm really sorry I told the boys about what we did, I shouldn't have done that because it's nobody's business but ours.

You also told Sam that you almost "finally got into my pants"  when we went to the lake together and that if it wasn't for him knocking on the window then we would have had sex. No we wouldn't have!

You're right, it won't. I'm going to UO in the fall and we won't have to see each other again.

I finally finish filling out my UO packet and stick it back in the mail for them to get information on my major and my classes.

"I'm so proud of you for getting accepted to UO." My mom hugs me after I set the packet in the mail box.

"Thank you." I smile and hug her back tightly. I haven't heard anyone say something positive to me in a long time, and it feels nice for a change. "I just want to go now and leave Omaha." I slightly laugh and she rolls her eyes.

"You're my first born, you don't need to grow up and leave me." She smiles.

"I'll miss you, mom. But I won't miss anyone else." I joke and she rolls her eyes again.

"Yes you will."

"Eh." I shrug my shoulders and we retreat back into the house.

8:30 AM
school library

"Can I copy you when you're done?" Sammy points at my human anatomy worksheet.

"Yeah." I nod and continue filling it out and reading from the text book.

"That's the penis." He shows me the picture in the book of all of the male body's nerves, including it's package. I chuckle and shake my head as I take the book back and flip the page.

"Marina?" Johnson slides in next to Sammy across from me and has a worried look on his face.

"What?"

"You're going to UO?"

"Yeah." I smile.

"Congratulations on getting accepted, my friend applied last year but didn't get in."

"Thanks, Johnson."

"Does Gilinsky know?" He hesitantly asks and chews on his bottom lip.

"Yeah." I sigh and lay down my pencil.

"Just asking."

"I know, I'm just trying to focus on graduating and my grades; not Gilinsky or the drama going on in my life."

"Sorry, I was just wondering if he knew you were going to Oregon after high school."

"It's fine, Johnson. Yeah, Jack knows I'm leaving but I doubt he really cares."

"Why do you think that?" Sammy asks.

"Nothing, I don't want to talk about it anymore." I comment and pack my books and papers into my backpack. "I'll see you guys later." I throw it over my shoulder and leave the table, exiting through the open library doors.

People just need to stop asking me about Jack.

I roll my eyes at the thought and turn the corner towards the cafeteria.

"So, you're coming over at 4:00?" I hear Millie's annoying voice from around the corner.

"Yeah." Gilinsky's deep voice answers her and I get the chills. You've got to be fucking kidding me.

"Cool." She giggles, "I can't wait."

"Me neither." He lets out a low chuckle and I hear them kiss.

Since when? I thought she hated Jack.

I quickly turn the other way and just make my way outside to go sit on a bench.

I just want to go to Oregon already.
