Phone Call

The next day the girls were asking CatNap and DogDay about how they got together and how long they've been dating.

"We got together yesterday. So we haven't been dating for very long." DogDay told them while CatNap hid his face

"Aww I thought you've been dating for longer than a day." Bobby pouted, "But you two are still so cute."

"Same here." Picky said looking at CatNap, "Are you embarrassed?"

"Maybe... I never dated anyone before. Even when I was acting, I never kissed anyone either." CatNap muttered, but they heard it

"Wait, I'm your first kiss?!" DogDay asked completely shocked

"Y-yeah."

Bubba and Kicken saw the group and walked over to them, "Hey guys!" Kicken waved

Bobby and Picky saw the two and turned to each other and nods. Bubba and Kicken sat down with them.

"What are we talking about?" Bubba asked everyone

"CatNap and DogDay." Hoppy said

"Are you okay CatNap?" Kicken asked the feline

"I'm fine..." He said softly hiding his face in DogDay's fur

"These two finally got together and we're asking them about it." Picky told Bubba and Kicken

"You did!" Kicken yelled, "Finally!"

"How? When?" Bubba asked the two

"Yesterday after you two left. CatNap was teasing me about something and we brought up the whole dating situation. Then I kissed him and we made it official." DogDay explained

"What did you do after?" Crafty asked as she was sketching the couple

"We just ate breakfast and then cuddled and napped." DogDay told her, "It's probably going to be a year or so until we're both comfortable with doing something like that." He was blushing now

Kicken's phone rang, he started to keep it next to him so he can read any and all updates from his sister. He saw the name of the contact and ignored the call.

"Who was that?" Hoppy asked him

"My mother." Kicken frowned, "No doubt she's calling to have someone track the call."

"Oh so your sister wasn't lying." Bubba

"When it comes to our parents, she doesn't lie." Kicken said ignoring another call that came through

Bobby frowned, "Why not answer it and tell her to never call again and then block her number? Problem solved right?"

"No. She has ways of cutting me off and making me listen. It's her way or no way. If she wants your birthday party to be hers then it's going to be hers. If she wants to go out and eat, but everyone else has to pay for her meal then it's going to happen. She gaslights and manipulates. Like for example my surfboard, I wanted a small one for decorative purposes. She bought the one I have and said that I better be grateful that she spent her money on me and brings it up whenever she can."

Hoppy frowned, "You're an adult! She can't tell you what to do anymore. Just block her, don't even talk to her."

The others agreeded. Kicken thought about it, but the more he did the less he wanted to.

"That would make me feel guilty. I'll just do what Bobby suggested." Kicken told them

"Do what makes you feel comfortable." Bubba said

The girls all looked at each other with the same knowing glances. They just know that Bubba has feelings for Kicken. Things start to become obvious when you start to pay attention to things.

Kicken phone rang and he snatched it off of the ground answered it automatically putting it on speaker. His mother's voice rang out loud and clear.

"Kicken Chicken! You are to return home at once! Your sister needs you she's terribly injured and might die!"

Kicken had enough, "Shut up."

"Excuse me!? How dare yo-"

Kicken cuts her off, "I'm tired of your lies and gaslighting. I'm tired of the abuse! Tired of it! Don't you ever call me again!" With that he hung up

"How do you feel?" DogDay asked him

"Like ass. She's my mother, sure she made my life hell since the day I was born, but you know." He sighed as he blocked her number

"Just because she had you doesn't make her your mother. Some parents don't deserve to have kids." CatNap spoke up, "Plus she's lying to you about your sister. She told us herself that she's fine."

Crafty looked at Kicken, "So your sister isn't injured and dying?"

"She got into a car crash, but she's fine. She's just missing a leg. She told me that she was fine and that my parents just want me for hard labour. They don't love me, they love the fact that I could be used and manipulated." Kicken sighed and laid his head on Bubba's lap

"At least you know that you don't have to put up with them anymore. They can't manipulate you anymore and they can't find you here." DogDay told him wagging his tail

Kicken looked at DogDay, "Dude you had the perfect life."

DogDay slightly tilted his head, "Not really. I did what I did because I wanted to and it made my mom happy. My cousins are the worst and so are my aunts and uncles. They hated me because of what I did. My mental health was trash and at one point I wanted to end my life. But yeah... I guess my life was really great."

"I didn't mean it like that." Kicken sat up and looked at DogDay

"I know. We all have shitty lives, but hey, at least we have each other. We can celebrate our terrible lives together." DogDay smiled

Craft smiled, "Finished!"

She turned her sketch book around and showed the others her sketch. It was of DogDay smiling happily while CatNap his behind him looking shy and blushing.

"Crafty that's amazing! I can't wait to see the entire thing." DogDay's ears perked up and his tail was thumping against the ground

CatNap nods, "I like it."

Picky whispered something to Bobby and she nods.

"Hey Kicken, Bubba could you help me out? I want to make a small picnic for tomorrow to celebrate DogDay and CatNap finally getting together." Picky asked them

"Sure why not." Kicken said standing up and brushing himself off

"I have nothing planned for today." Bubba also stood up

Picky smiled and stood up, "Great! Follow me!" She grabbed them and pulled them towards her house

"She's totally going to try to get them together." Hoppy smiled

"Should we stop her?" CatNap asked

The girls looked at each other and smiled, "Nope!"

"Picky knows what she's doing. After all she helped someone else get with their crush." DogDay said looking at Bobby and Crafty

The two blushed making both DogDay and Hoppy laugh at their slight embarrassment.
