I'm Okay

Kicken walked back to the feline's house holding the side of his head as it throbbed in pain. He winced from the pain and finally sighed when he reached CatNap's house. He walked inside and saw Bubba and DogDay talking at the table.

"Welcome back Kicken. Do you need some pain medication for your head?" Bubba asked him

Kicken closed the door and nods, "It hurts."

DogDay got up and led Kicken to the chair. He say down and pulled out his phone, he looked at the number on his phone. It was his sister's number. He wanted to call her so badly, he wanted to check on her to make sure that she was okay.

"Here Kicken." Bubba said handing him a glass of water and a small white pill

Kicken sat his phone down and took the pill, "Thanks, Bubba."

"Are you okay?" DogDay asked him

Kicken sighed, "Yes and No. I want to call my sister, but I don't know if I should."

"Did you have a fight with her?" Bubba asked

"No! She's my big sister, I love her!" Kicken looked at the number, "She made sure that I didn't die in that hellhole. She made sure that I left without a hitch."

DogDay was about to ask something else when a ball of purple fur knocked him over. He landed on his back and chuckled seeing CatNap awake and full of energy.

"I'm glad that you're awake Kitty. You've been asleep for 24 hours almost 25." DogDay told him sitting up

CatNap got off of DogDay, "I told you that I could."

"Bubba thought that you were dead like 3 different times."

"You didnt move much, plus you didn't get up got food, water, or the use the bathroom. I was worried." Bubba huffed

CatNap nodd, "That's understandable. Aside from that can someone explain as to why my window is broken?"

Kicken rose his hand, "Accident."

"Explain."

"I wanted to jump your house seeing as it wasn't as high up as the others. I crashed through your window and now I have a concussion."

CatNap walked over to Kicken and nuzzled his cheek against Kicken's. DogDay softly smiled while Bubba watched confused. CatNap purred as he continued for a while.

"Feeling better?" The feline asked pulling away

Kicken nods, "Yeah. It doesn't hurt as much. It's a light throbbing."

"What?" Bubba was nearly left speechless

"Oh uh... Back when I was physically acting I learned that a cat's purr can help people feel better. And the smell of lavender can help calm and sooth as well." CatNap looked down

"I've heard of those effects, I never seen it be done." Bubba looked at Kicken, "Did it really help?"

"Yeah..." He was looking at his phone again

"Call her." DogDay spoke up

"Call who?" CatNap asked walking back over to DogDay and got close to him wrapping his tail around the canine's waist

"His sister." DogDay replied, "Kicken, you said it yourself. She loves you and helped you move here, why would she be against you calling her?"

"I don't know. I haven't spoken to her in years. I don't know if she was expecting for me to call her and I didn't." The avian placed his head down onto the table and groaned

"Call her. The worse she can say is to not call again cause you escaped and made a life for yourself." Bubba said giving Kicken a small smile

Kicken smiled back and called his sister. It rang about three times before she picked up, "Hello?"

"Sis?" Kicken was nervous

There was silence before the sound of a door being closed was heard, "Kicken? Are you okay?!"

"Yeah... Why?"

They heard her sigh in relief, "Mom and Dad... I heard them talking to you earlier. Now they're planning on finding you to bring you back."

"What why?!" Kicken could feel his heart racing

"I didn't want to tell you. To make you worry and leave your awesome new life behind buuuut... Uh I got into a really bad car crash." She laughed nervously

"WHAT?! ARE YOU OKAY?!" He screamed

CatNap slightly winced from the loud and sudden noise.

"Sorry Cat. Didn't mean to scare you." Kicken apologized

His sister laughed, "Oh I'm fine. I'm missing a leg though. Now I can't do much around the house. So Mom and Dad need a new servant."

"Meaning me... I doubt that they can find me."

"They have before, remember when we were little."

"We were on the streets for a few days until some random strangers took us in. Mom and Dad found us and got them thrown in prison for kidnapping." Kicken sighed, "I remember all of the crying and screaming we were doing. I still can't believe that the judge ruled in our parents favor."

"Still they might show up. Keep away from them. Leave again if you have to. I don't want to see you back here. I have to go. I love you. I text you updates and such." With that she hung up

Kicken watched as the call ended and the screen go dark

"Kicken are you okay?" DogDay asked him

"Yeah... At least I know that she still loves me and cares about me." Kicken said as tears fell from his eyes

"Are you going to leave?" Bubba asked

"No, I'm not. My parents might find the neighborhood, but they can't force me to leave. I'm not a child anymore." Kicken said wiping his face

Bubba placed his hoof on Kicken's wing and smiled at him, "Hey at least she gave you a warning so you can prepare yourself."

"Yeah... Also my headache has returned due to me crying." Kicken awkwardly laughed

"Come on, let's get you home so you can properly relax." Bubba stood up.

Kicken followed his lead and made sure that he had his phone. They two left CatNap's house.

"Bubba has it bad." CatNap said chuckling

"As bad you have it for me, Kitty?" DogDay teased

"No, it's as bad you have it for me."

"Let's face it we have it bad for each other."

"We should just make it official. Picky and Bobby think we're dating." CatNap informed him

DogDay said nothing for a moment. He just stared at CatNap for a moment and then kissed the feline causing him to purr.

"Does that make it official?" He asked CatNap

"Yeah..." His voice was soft and he looked dazed, almost completely out of it

DogDay laughed and kissed CatNap again.
