🎀~Claire~⭐️
"UUUGGHH THIS IS SO DUUMB!!" The familiar puppeteer groaned, bringing several annoyed glares from the surrounding students in the library. "Russia is such a useless language! Who's even going around and speaking like this anyway?"
Bubble, who's already spent the past twenty minutes tutoring Lana, replies wearily. "You mean... Russian?"
"Same thing." Bubble promptly face plants into the hard wooden desk, earning a sympathetic gaze from the bird boy sat next to her. Similarly, Claire had also shared her grievances, but quickly dismissed it for her own selfish pursuit; an attempt to distract herself from the wretched sensation twisting through her gut.
Although the image of her mutilated body still remained fresh in her mind, something beyond just seeing her own corpse had left the bow wearing girl in a maze of her own thoughts. Because for whatever she saw during that moment, why had the world shown her something as ominous as her own dead body?
Was it supposed to be a warning? A sign that something terrible will happen to her? Was it all really just in her imagination? Or... was it perhaps...
She hesitates, before raising her hand up to her right side, caressing the tightly held bandages until eventually hovering over her hidden eye.
If her previous theory remains true, then maybe what she saw beforehand could also be explained by her own gift.... But then again, she doesn't even know herself of how her power exactly works, let alone its limitations. For all she knows, it would just cause another annoying migraine that she'd have to deal with for another hour. Something that she... REALLY doesn't look forward too.
Though even if her past experience troubled her, 'I guess it wouldn't hurt to at least try.' She still believed it would be better than doing nothing at all. Though of course, she wouldn't do it in the library of all places. Maybe if the bathroom is relatively empty, than she can-
"Hey guys, mind if I uh... ask y'all something?" Lana inquired, peaking everyone's attention as Engel went to respond.
"Yeah sure, what are you having trouble with?"
"Well hehe, it's not about this stupid book if that's what you're thinking." Engel sighs in relief at the miracle. "But it's less about me and more about uhh... Abbie..."
She lets her words hang in the air curiously, bringing Claire to raise a brow upon the mention of their absent friend. "What about Abbie?"
"Well... ok, I don't know if it's just me but... hasn't he been acting a little... odd recently?" The group stares at her for a moment, letting Bubble raise her head up with interest as they wait for her to explain her curiosity. "I mean not the BAD kind of odd, it's more like uhhh the odd that's just like 'woah! That's new.' And you don't really mind it because it's not a big deal or it's inherently a good thing or... something like that yeah." Lana watches as her friends become dumbfounded the more she adds on, eventually resorting to using Mister Scribbles as backup as he's slowly revealed from under the table.
"That boy suuuure does seem more confident ever since last week." Scribbles explained with a boyish, southern accent. "Aah thought I was hearin' things when he sayd somethin' about 'going to the gym.' Never en mah life would aah've imagined to hear those words come out of his mouth, 'n aah reckon ya folks felt the same way too, didn' ya?"
Her words left a lasting impression on the group, leaving one bubbly fellow to rise up with similar thoughts at the topic. "Oh my god... thank you, I thought I was the ONLY person who noticed this." She lifted herself up with appreciation for the puppeteer, speaking softly of her suspicions of the young apple. "I thought it was weird too cause like, not even a week ago, he would always-and I mean ALWAYS stutter when speaking about almost anything. But now... he just speaks so calm and clearly that I barely even recognize the guy."
