[L1,2 or 3] represents the beginning of a flashback to one of Elena's past lives. There is more than one past life, which is why they're numbered. Though, these memories are usually told as she sleeps and Elena herself cannot remember them.
[/L1,2 or 3] represents the end of a flashback to one of Elena's past lives.
[P] represents the beginning of a retelling of a memory in Elena's current life.

~3~ is just a timeskip
A/N: I now have a generated picture of what Elena's mask should look like! As for the song, it was an unexpected find but I think, if she could've heard it, Elena would be yelling it at the Kanniballs...

Salt tickled my nose with each inhale made. Sand slid under each one of my footsteps. Sun rays warmed my skin enough to cause a light sheen of sweat to form on my arms despite only having just left the cool shade of the forest mere seconds ago.
Suspended high in the air was the ship. The completed build was a sight to see. At least two and half villager huts long with massive masts that looked as though they could scrape the sky. The sails were mostly the same as they had been before- patches made of large leaves had been added.
If Amalia weren't traveling with us and thus able to keep the leaves from withering I would have tried to show the villagers how to weave a proper giant cloth. It was fine as is for now though.
All that was left to do was get the ship into the water.
While we all went to the ruins of the Summit Tree to see what was left to salvage from it, Amalia went on to the village to speak to Botan about getting the ship into the water.
"Oh, here Elena." Yugo paused his stride to reach into the pocket on the belly of his tunic. An angry squeak came from within, to which Yugo clicked his tongue. "No, you give that back Az, it wasn't yours to begin with."
"Has he been in there this whole time?" I asked curiously as Yugo seemingly fought for the right to something within his pocket.
"Yeah!" Abruptly his hand escaped the pocket.
Inbetween his thumb and forefinger was something that caught the light of the sun. Immediately the yellow ball of feathers followed, chirping angrily as he tried to retrieve his prized possession. Before I could get a better idea of what the object was it disappeared into Yugo's closed palm.
"This is the first time he's gained the courage to come out actually- no Az! It's not yours!" At that Yugo began to bounce around in the sand as he dodged Az's attempts to peck at his hand.
From my shoulders Moon hopped down to the sand. He ran over to join in on the fun- immediately jumped between Yugo and Az in attempt to catch either one of them.
Not too far away from us Dally perked up as he spotted the commotion. "Are we playing tag now? Yugo, this is how it's done!"
He jumped right into the chaos as though it were the most natural thing to do.
"I'm sorry we couldn't salvage very much of your things, Elena." Evangeline stopped at my side as she spoke, distracting me from the show.
The reminder had my shoulders sag with disappointment. "Yeah. Me too."
All my gathered and dried herbs had been scattered if not burnt to a crisp. The same could be said for any medicines I had been in the process of making. I tried not to even think about the clothes that I had woven together, the colors I had painstakingly made and hid away. (Moon liked to go on a color-craze each time he saw that the colors were left unattended. I did not enjoy having to clean that up.)
