I do my hair, a girl with dark ginger hair stares back at me. Wait, I realize it's me. A two month pregnant me. Why am I so good with myself being pregnant, I mean why?!
My mom is sort out excited as well as totally worried that her 17 year old daughter is getting her baby cut out of her. I should just go abort the baby before it even gets time to develop. But then Derek will become mad, he'll never talk to me ever. I have to figure something else out so that I can give birth to the baby then possibly put it up for adoption?
No, no fricking way. I believe a child should know who it's parents are, I can't just abandon a helpless child to be raised by a bunch of strangers. As Derek has said plenty a time, were keeping the baby and raising it. No refunds, as greedy store clerks would say. I'm so flustered, I have no friends to hang out with, Squid can't hang out with me at all. Because of her crazy Westboro preacher in training parents said she was "forbidden to the end of life" to talk to me.
GAHHHHH! I begin to get angry, angry to the point that my mirror breaks. Wait, what?
How did that just break?! Please don't tell me I have some sort of scary yet awesome telekinetic powers like in Carrie (which is my favourite book, btw). The phone rings, I answer it.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Um, Ella?" A easily recognizable hesitant voice answers back. It's Frank, the blind brother of Squid.
"Hey Frank, is something wrong" A voice rings in my head, Frank's voice in my head.
Should I tell her, no, I shouldn't What shouldn't he tell me.
"What shouldn't you tell me, Frank?" The other side of the phone is silent.
"H-how you know what I was thinking?" Frank asks.
"JUST TELL ME!" I growl, "Or I'm hanging up".
"I can see" Frank murmurs. Wait what?!
"How?" I try to stay calm.
"I can see thermal like a snake" I hesitate, I have mind reading, he can see what a snake sees.
"I can also sense a person's mood, like right now, you are astonished and scared" I begin to get even more frightened.
"I'm coming over" I hang up, I drive to Squid's house, which is deserted. I walk in to see Squid's mom lunging towards Frank. "NOO!" I thrust my hand toward her, she flies into a wall.
I look at my hands, then at Squid's mom's reaction to this.
I was right, I have telekinesis, I'm Carrie.
