Amalie's head is buried in my shoulder. Her dads face right in front of mine, breathing heavily. He's breath stank of smoke and alcohol. His teeth were rotten and he had a chubby face. I hadn't eaten in days but I gathered all my strength and punched him in the nose. He fell back wiped the blood that poured from his nose. An evil glare shot across the room. The door slammed and loud thumps slowly went down stairs. We were left alone. Another door slammed and a car drove off. "Thomas." A small whisper calls out. I turn round to see Amalie covered in blood. Her face is a reck. "Oh shit. Right. Stay here. I'll get some bandages and clothes. Just take slow deep breaths." I run down stairs before she can answer. I check every single cupboard and drawer. Nothing in them. In the corner of my eye, I see a shelf with small boxes on it. I climb on to the counter and look through everything. Right at the back I see the bandages. I rush back to Amalie's room and unravel it all. Her eyes start closing. "AMALIE!" I scream. "Come on. Stay with me. I'll clear it all up. Just stay! PLEASE" My voice shakes. "Just... Please.. Don't call an ambulance, okay?" She whispers before her eyes are tightly shut. "I promise." The cut was extremely deep and went from her elbow, down to her wrist. I dab the cloth on her arm until it's all clean. I wrap the bandage on her arm and keep my promise. After a while, I wonder whether or not I should call an ambulance. Just a bit longer. If she doesn't wake up soon, I'll call them. I start to get hungry but I don't dare leave the room. I will wait with her for as long as it takes for her to wake up.

The sun starts to set and I begin to worry about her, so called, dad coming home. I need sleep but I won't move. My eyes start to shut very slowly until I here Amalie. "Thomas. Thomas. Where are you?" She's breathing heavily. "I'm right here. It's fine." I say whilst walking to the light switch. "How are you feeling?" I put my arm round her and pull her closer to me. "Uh ok I guess. My arm hurts a lot and so does my head. Thanks for keeping your promise." She smiles. "Well you did lose quite a bit of blood," I laugh "if you want I'll leave you to rest." We look into each others eyes. "No. Please stay with me." She hugs me tighter. I pull away and look at her. "You're beautiful." I lean in and press my lips against hers. She kiss me back and wraps her arms around my neck. I place my hands on her waist. Her lips were soft. We kissed for a while until we got interrupted. The front door slammed. He was back...
