*trigger warning*

Senior year. I can't even wrap my head around it. It's my senior year of High School. After this year I'm going to be considered an adult. I'll be free of everyone and everything. I will get to make my own decisions on what I want to do with the rest of my life and not have to care about other people's opinions because this is my life now.

After our trip to Boston, Leah and I didn't see each other until the first day of school. I got busy helping Kristin with the hardware store and when I wasn't there, I went into the city to get some school supplies. I had to get myself together for the madness that was about to happen. Leah was also busy with the softball team and getting herself ready for school.

I also finally got settled into speaking with a therapist here. Over the course of the summer I spent a while trying to find someone that I felt comfortable speaking with. I think it took me so long to find someone new to talk to because I felt like I was doing so well I didn't need to see anybody to talk about my problems. The medication Curtis prescribed kept me balanced and feeling more like myself then I have in a long time. But I did find a new shrink to speak with, Doctor Jenna Turdo.

On the first day of school, I got there early like I do every year and found my way to my locker. I put my stuff away and grabbed the books I needed for the first three periods of my day. I made my way to my first class and took a seat by the window. There is still ten minutes till the first bell rings so just took out my phone and started looking over schedule and planning a route in my head to my next class.

The day past slowly and I couldn't have been happier when it ended. Leah and I only have lunch and one off period together. We aren't in any actually classes together because I'm in all honors while she is in regular classes.

We went out on our off periods to the roof. It's my new favorite place. In fact that's the place where Leah and I went almost every day for our off periods. We would eat our lunch or just talk. We like the time together and it didn't matter to me what we else we did.

Senior year was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. The only hard parts were the months before December. All of the college testing and applications had to be done and handed it by then. I only applied to our local community college because I have no interest in going in the first place.

Leah stressed a lot over these months. She was struggling with keeping up with homework and test prep and managing the softball team. Her dyslexia was getting the better of her and she needed help. I would help her with her homework and tests but it was still a struggle. On night in particular I will probably remember for the rest of my life. I was just getting off of work, helping Uncle Trent close up the hardware store and I got a phone call.

"Hello?" I asked.

"I need you" Leah said her voice cracking over her last word.

"I'm on my way." I said and ran to my truck.

Good thing it's already 10pm. Nobody is on the roads right now so I sped all the way to Leah's house. The front door was locked and I didn't want to wake anybody up by knocking on it so I went around into her backyard and walked up the deck steps to the back door. They keep a spare key on top of the doorframe just encase. I hopped a few times and reached it. Quietly I unlocked the back door and crept through their house till I got upstairs to Leah's room.

I slowly opened the door and found Leah's room a mess. Papers are everywhere. It looks like all of her binders exploded and then a tornado ran through her room. But one thing I didn't see was Leah. I walked into her room and closed the door behind me. The light in her bathroom was on so I walked over there.
