Sarah's palms became sweaty as she reached for the door handle. What would she do if she had caught him finally in the act? Even after, would she still be able to leave him in the way she pictured in her head over a dozen times?
She wanted at this moment to grow a spine and catch her husband doing the unthinkable, but as she lowered her hands and backed away from the door, she couldn't. Today was not her day to grow a backbone.
But it seemed there was a different plan in store for her that day.
As she continued backing up, she had bumped into a very, very hard chest. She jumped almost out of her heels at the surprise of someone else in the hall with her. She quickly turned and leaned forward putting her hand over her left breast so she could at least get her heart rate back to normal. But slowing down her heart rate was not in the cards for her as she looked up the most handsome face she had ever seen in a long time.
"Excuse me miss, I'm so sorry for scaring you." The handsome man said to her with a smile. "I was just looking for my date. Someone said she'd came down this hall with someone else."
Sarah was too caught up in the brilliance of this man's smile to even register what he had said. She couldn't stop imagining what those full lips could do to her body. He was tall man at least six feet towering over her average 5'5 frame. In heels she was closer to his nose. She saw lips moving, the push of his eyebrows together from his confusion but even still, it wasn't registering until he kept trying to get her attention.
"Miss. Miss. Hello?" He placed his hands on her arms to lightly shake her, jolting Sarah out of her perverted thoughts.
She chuckled nervously. She had never had perverse thoughts about any other man besides her husband. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"I asked if you had seen another young woman down this way, she had on a champagne colored dress with an updo?" Sarah shook her head no, even though who he described someone who looked just like Audrey. Was she his date? Then she really looked at him. She had forget he was with her at breakfast this morning. How could she have missed such a fine specimen sitting at the same table as her? Then again it also didn't surprise her that he was Audrey's date. She was a very beautiful woman.
"I remember now. You're her date. You were with her at the breakfast this morning."
Marcus looked at her differently this time and briefly remembered seeing her this morning. She was sitting next to that guy who had cut in to get a dance with Audrey.
"Yeah I am. I remember you too a little now that I think about it. You were with the man that came late."
Sarah nodded her head brushing her hair behind her ear, a gesture that didn't go unnoticed. "Yeah, that man is my husband." Marcus heard the undertone when she said husband, as if she was unhappy. Trouble in Paradise? "He too have also disappeared and I can't find him anywhere. My friend also told me he came down this way. I heard noise coming from behind this door but," Sarah trailed off biting her lip and Marcus was keen enough to understand why.
She thought he was cheating and who ever with was with him behind this door.
"You think he's in there with someone else don't you." Sarah rubbed her right arm and continued chewing on her bottom lip. she looked at the door, images once again invading her mind of her husband fucking another woman...something she had wished he'd do with her.
She nodded and didn't say a word.
"Well, I don't know about you guys marriage, but I think you need to open the door. I can tell this had been something that's ongoing and not just a one time thought. If you believe your husband is cheating, do something about it, but it all starts with you opening that door." Sarah looked back at those handsome eyes as Marcus did the same to her. She was very beautiful woman with the skin of ivory, eyes like clear blue water and such grace. But her insecurities and broken relationship kept him from seeing her true beauty. He was completely turned off by the fragile woman standing before him.
