Tough Love x Jessie Ware in MM
"Daniel?" Audrey called out from the comfiness of her couch and body pillow and evening marathon of Martin. She waited a few seconds to listen for a response but when she didn't get one, she called out his name again.
"Daniel!" This time a little louder and a lot more irritable. Her emotions and hormones were so out of whack and unfortunately Daniel was there to receive all of it but he didn't mind not one bit.
But where was he now? All Audrey wanted was a jar of pickles, peanut butter and a foot massage for her swollen feet. She swore her toes looked like overgrown sausages. One time when Daniel was giving her a foot massage, he decided to play "This little Piggy" with her feet. To say Audrey cried her eyes out because she herself thought she looked like a whale, it didn't help. it took Daniel all of an hour and a bribe of a tub of neopolitan ice cream and oreos to get her to stop crying.
This pregnancy was real. Already in her second Trimester at twenty-two weeks(six months), Audrey was a ticking time bomb. You never knew what you were going to get. Krystle warned her about the trials and tribulations of being pregnant but Audrey swore up and down she wouldn't be the typical pregnant woman. Boy was she wrong. Hell, even when Krystle was still pregnant, no one wanted to be in the same room as those two. It was like bonnie and clyde with their emotions. They'll tag team and employ all of their feelings and cravings on someone.
It was a mess.
Audrey missed them two being pregnant together but she was more ecstatic about her Goddaughter. she was a spitting image of her beautiful mother with the emerald green eyes, smooth soft pale skin and golden hair given from God himself. Audrey immediately fell in love and it made her that much more excited about her child. She couldn't wait for playdates. Krystle even mended with her child's father. He was some rich producer, but one they got the paternity test and proved he was the father (because he was a rich producer) he's been there ever since making the whole co-parenting work. Krystle told Audrey that she wouldn't mind being with him but that wasn't her focus. Her Daughter and her career was. If love was in the cards for her, it'll find her.
That reassured Audrey some and even had her contemplating on contacting Corey or Marcus. At one point she thought about it so much, she even decided to find them both one day. When she was just only sixteen weeks pregnant, a little pudge by then, she found the courage embedded in her from Krystle, Natalie and Daniel, to go to Corey's job and speak to him about the baby. She had no other choice since she deleted his number. She'd even bundled up in a peacoat to hide her bump.
But when she got there, she was informed that Corey no longer worked there and moved to California when presented with a bigger job opportunity. Hearing the news, Audrey's heart shattered, she'd didn't think he would up and leave and when she spoke to Krystle she found out from Sarah that they had definitely moved to california to start fresh and didn't plan on coming back. It seemed their marriage was back on track but who knew with Corey.
Now she heard that Sarah actually in fact left him after catching him the act with the housemaid.
After that Audrey gave up in the search to speak with him and it gave her discouragement to want to talk to Marcus who she knew in fact was still managing his club here in Chicago. But then again she'd also heard rumors that he'd also moved on too better things and even got engaged from Natalie when her and Krystle had a girls night out.
That twisted the knife in her heart. She still had hope of that picket white fence and dog with her child's father but that wasn't in the cards for her.
So now she was here with Daniel keeping his promise of sticking by her side. He was there for every appointment and even shed a tear with her when they were finally able to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was a magical moment for them both. From that appointment on, he was waiting on her hand and foot and always reminded him of what a great man he was for doing so for a woman and child that wasn't his. His answer was always, "No other place I would rather be." To Audrey it just meant he wanted to be the best friend he could be but for him, he was growing more and more in love with this woman. It's gotten to the point where he'd even broken up with Amanda, kicked her out of the apartment along with all her stuff in one day. It was that serious for him.
