Chapter [6]

Audrey rubbed her temples as she tried to soothe the aching migraine she woke up with a couple of minutes ago. Finally, she popped up at her desk with her laptop, waiting for a chapter to be written in her bedroom. She picked up the freshly made cup of coffee and sipped, enjoying the warmth it welcomed to her aching body. She shifted in the seat uncomfortably as her bottom was still incredibly sore from last night.

It was at least one in the afternoon, and she was just waking up as Marcus was leaving a few hours before.

Oh, Marcus.

Audrey sighed at the mere thought of this man. The corners of her lips tug into a smile. Now that was a man of sexual prowl that she had always wanted. He was aggressive, dominating, experienced, and more like herself. He was what she had been looking for all of her sexual life.

She wanted to see him again, but only to have him again. She always wanted to have an occasional fuck buddy, and what better candidate than Marcus?

But, she had to remember, he was a one-night stand rule. She looked to the back of her closed bedroom door and felt a little disappointed as a frown had set in. Not in herself but for the simple fact that she vowed by these rules and that breaking them would destroy years of heartbreak-free life.

She looked back to her desk and spotted Marcus's number taunting her on a piece of stationery paper. He didn't leave his name, but she knew she would always recognize whose it was if he ever called.

She let out a long sigh and sunk into her desk chair as her robe slipped open a little. She was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and she was debating if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

"You'll be my Vixen,

As we improvise,

Delivering a captivating performance in return.

You'll be my Vixen,

My Bed-,"

Audrey reached for her singing phone only a few inches from her laptop, gazing at the name on the screen, and playfully rolled her eyes. Naomi was always on time when calling to see how a one-night stand went. She tapped the talk icon and placed the phone to her ear.

"Hey boo, wassup?"

"Girl, pleasseee tell me you got some?" Naomi pleaded. Audrey could only laugh. Naomi was married with beautiful children, but Audrey could tell Naomi wanted a taste of the single life again.

Audrey leaned her chair back and propped one of her legs on the desk, ready to tell her best friend all. She loved revealing juicy details about her rendezvous. It was exciting and exhilarating in almost the same fashion as her writing her novels.

"I sure did, and this man was everything and then some." Audrey cooed.

"Details!"

"For one, that tongue was better than Rick. He knew exactly what he was doing. I had to catch my breath a couple of times."

"Ooh, yes. Ain't nothing like some good head. I swear, Dawyne used to be like that, but things kind of slowed down after having Amari, you know?" Audrey could hear the longing in her best friend's voice and felt her sympathy. "I want that spark back, and I've been thinking...I want you to help me."

Audrey at first thought it was a joke. She laughed a bit, maybe even too hard, because she just couldn't grasp that her best friend, the same one who was the role model for the entire group with her loving family, wanted to commit infidelity. And when she didn't hear Naomi join in on the laughter, she paused and shook her head.
