It's my day off and the only showing of "The Dark" today is a subtitled screening, which is fine, I guess. Whenever I watch movies at home, I often turn the subtitles on anyway. I walk in, buy a ticket, popcorn and a drink, and make my way to the movie. I always like to sit in about the middle of the theatre or a little higher. Not too high, not too low.
As the previews finally stop showing, and the lights dim, I notice a man several rows below me, turned around in his seat, staring at me. I try to brush it off and eat some of my popcorn, watching as the movie begins to start.
I can't shake it off. He's still staring at me. He hasn't even turned around to look at the movie once. I almost want to ask him if he has a problem or something but I can't bring myself to. I'm not the person to start a fight or something like that. I look away from him and back towards the movie. I could walk out of here and tell a worker about him, but that would mean walking down the steps, and getting closer to him. Not doing that.
It's too hard to focus on the movie because he's right in my line of sight. He's sitting in the middle of his row, like me. He now lifts his arm, and points at me. My eyebrows furrow. Why would he point at me? If this guy knows me, this is a strange way of showing it. It's too dark to be able to recognize him. All I can see is that he's bald. Or...nearly bald. And the darkness makes his eyes look black...and sunken.
I try to ignore him once more, and thankfully the movie is getting more interesting, finally keeping my attention. A few minutes pass before I notice motion from the man again. He's frantically signing at me and pointing. Man, I knew I should have learned sign language. Could've came in real handy here.
I put my hands up in the air, basically shrugging, letting him know that I don't understand. He just keeps pointing. I stand up, about ready to finally walk down the steps, when I feel the cool metal of a gun against my temple, and then a man speaking into my ear, telling me to sit back down. That man down there was trying to tell me that someone was behind me.
