*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
I jumped up as my alarm went off. It was 7:00AM on the dot I have to get Ava to school at 8:30. I got out of bed going into the bathroom to do my hygiene. August was still sleep. I was very sore from lastnight I was walking really funny as always I guess he put it down. After I was done I through on some sweats and a t shirt & pulled my hair up into a ponytail. I walked into Ava's bedroom seeing her still sleeping. I shook her.
"Ava. Get up mama" I said rubbing her back
She groaned "im awake mommy"
"Come on you have to brush your teeth and get dressed."
She got up rubbing her eyes and yawning. She grabbed her rag and tooth brush and walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth. I chuckled to myself seeing her with her stool at the sink. After getting Ava ready it was 8:00 we headed to the kitchen so I could get her lunch.
"What do you want for breakfast?" I asked her
"A pop tart please." She smiled
I gave her a pop tart and a cup of milk as I hurried up and put her lunch in her lunch box.
"What kind of snack do you want?" I asked
"Ummmm barbecue chips and gushers." She said. I put that in her lunch box along with some apple slices and grapes. When everything was done I grabbed my keys and we headed out the door. We arrived at her school on time. I walked her into the building holding her hand when we got to her classroom she looked up at me.
"Have a good day baby be nice. Daddy will be here to pick you up at 3:30" I said kissing her cheeks
She smiled "ok ok I love you mommy"
"Be nice Ava! I love you more princess" I said
I watched her as She turned and walked into the classroom her teacher came to the door.
"Hi I'm Mrs. Walker I'll be her teacher for the rest of the year, you must be her mommy?" she said smiling
"Hey nice to meet you yes im her mom my name is Aaleeyah." I said smiling back
"Don't worry she's in good hands." Her teacher said. I nodded waving bye and walking away. On my way out the door I seen summer bringing Lani in. Lani had to be in the other section because they had the younger ones separated from the kindergarteners.
"Hi auntie babyyy!" I bent down kissing lani's cheek
"Hi auntie Lee! Where's aba ?" She said in her baby voice
"She's in her classroom ma ma. Have a good day and be good for auntie ok?" I said kissing her cheek again and she nodded.
I looked up at summer. "Girl you better get used to this ish you look like you got a hangover bihh" I said giggling
"I damn sure do." She said laughing with me
"See you at work love you." I said
"Love you more!" She yelled all loud and ghetto in the school.
I chuckled to myself walking out of the building.

When I got in the house. I went straight upstairs kicking my shoes off and climbing into bed next to August. Im not going into work until 3:00 today so I have plenty of time to sleep.
"How was she babeh?" August mumbled
"She was ok , she seemed like she wasn't scared for her first day" I said
He smiled "cause my babeh a G"
"Oh shut up" I giggled. We both dozed back off.

My alarm went off again telling me it was time to get up for work. When I woke up August was already gone I sighed, I guess he's at the studio all I know is he better be on time to pick Ava up from school or we gonna have some problems!!! I got up going to get ready
*1 hour later
I arrived at the shop at exactly 3:30PM. I gathered my things and walked in seeing everyone at their station already doing hair. I spoke to everybody and went to my side to get settled. I checked my appointment book to see how many heads I had to do today. My eyes scanned the book and I have to do exactly 7 heads. My first client came in on time she smiled as she made her way over to my chair.
"Hey" she said
"Hi " I smiled "you're getting the partial sew in right?"
"Yes" she said and then handed me her bundles I immediately got started on her hair. In the middle of me braiding her hair my phone started ringing I looked at it to see Ava's school calling, my heart started racing as I hurried up and slid the bar over answering.
"Hello?" I said
"Hi Ms.Petty , this is Mrs.walker Ava's teacher , you do know that school ended at 3:30?" She said
"Hi yes I know that , her father was supposed to come get her Im so sorry im on my way now!" I said
"Ok and your fine, im here until 5:30 everyday" she said and then hung up.
Kayla's station was right next to mines and she had just got done her 3rd client she was about to go on break she seen the upset look I had on my face and she made her way over to me.
"What's wrong Lee?" She said looking at me
"August! He never fucking picked Ava up and now I have to stop working to pick her up!! I cannot be doing this who knows if my clients have some where to go at a certain time I can't just be stopping their hair halfway and leaving!" I said in a angry tone.
"Calm down , im going on break . I'll pick her up and bring her back here." Kayla smiled
"Thank you so much" I said
"It's no problem sis you already know that now go finish her hair." She said grabbing her keys and walking out the shop.
Just when I got done her sew in , Ava and Kayla walked in.
She ran over to me hugging me " I missed you mommy!!"
"I missed you more baby, when we get home I want you to tell me all about your day" I smiled.
"Ok mommy" she went and sat down eating her snacks she had in her book bag.
