You were a stressed out straight A student, and were just beginning your Junior year of high school. After the first week, your backpack already weighed more than a toddler and your frazzled brain was tired from having to concentrate so hard.
After a long day of school, you trudged into your room, threw your backpack onto the ground, and face planted your bed. Just as you were about to fall asleep for a quick nap, your phone began to ring. With a groan, you pulled it out of your back pocket and hit answer before even seeing who it was.
"Hello" "Hey!! It's Lydia, and I could really use some help now. Stiles invited me to come to the coffee shop with him, and I'd rather have another girl there than just be stuck with him all night. Mind coming?" You sighed, "Oh my god, Lydia, your inviting me to third wheel? AGAIN?!"
She became strict, "Now, (Y/N). You haven't had a boyfriend in how many years now? 6? And 5th grade 'love' doesn't count here! Strategically speaking, you haven't had a real boyfriend. I made Stiles ask Scott if there was anyone he could hook- *ahem* I mean set you up with, and he's sending someone! It'll be a double hangout!" You smirked, "You mean a double date?"
"NO! I'm barely getting over Jackson, now can we get back to the point? Get ready in a cute casual outfit and be at the coffee shop downtown at 5."
So, at 5, there you were. Lydia hadn't called or texted you since then, despite you practically blowing up her phone. Suddenly, you got a text from her,
Couldn't make it to the shop, and Stiles canceled. Scott's friend never knew that we were coming anyways. Have fun! ;)
You swore under your breath, "That evil conniving little-" "Hi, are you (Y/N)? " You froze and turned towards the speaker, who was a handsome curly haired brunette with bright blue eyes and a sweet smile. "Uh, yeah. Yeah that me. And, ah, who are you?" He smiled brightly, "Isaac Lahey. Want to grab a drink?" You smiled, "Yeah, sure."
He held the door open for you as you strode inside and sat at a table right next to the window. You both ordered your drinks, and sat in silence for a few moments. "So... Tell me about yourself. What are some of your hobbies?" You blushed, "Well, I like to read, write, dance, and sing." You muttered the last one under your breath, but he still caught it, "Sing? Well, why don't you give me a sample?"
Your eyes grew wide, "Um, no. Not here, not ever." He smiled, "C'mon, I'll give you $5." You bit your lip and thought for a second before grabbing the money and clearing your throat.
You softly sang the first few bars of Hallelujah by Panic! At the Disco. He listened intently, and when you stopped after the main verse, he clapped, "Wow, that was gorgeous!! Why be shy about a voice like that?"
You blushed even more, "Ok, enough about me, what about you?" He leaned back and shrugged, "I do lacrosse, and I'm doing track in the spring." You nodded, "Wow, didn't know I had a sporty guy with me." He suddenly leaned in, "But, you wanna know a secret?" You did the same, "What?" He kissed your cheek, "I have a thing for girls that like to read and care about their grades." You blushed even more and looked down just as your (Fav. Coffee/ tea) came.
The rest of the night, you got to know each other better, and in the end, you thanked Lydia for her mastermind set-up coffee date.
