You had been dating Isaac Lahey for some time now, but you kept the information on the down low. If the wrong people were to find out, it could mean trouble for your future, the pack, and yourself. Despite the secrecy around the two of you, however, everything was going just fine.

As you were upstairs in your room one morning, you heard the doorbell chime. You thought nothing of it until your mother, Melissa McCall, called you down to the dining room. You let out a long sigh as you yanked out your earphones and rolled out of bed for the first time that day.

After throwing on your favorite pair of slippers, you trudged downstairs with your hair still messy, your clothes rumpled, and your eyes still half open. You made it to the room and let out a big yawn before you even took in your surroundings,

"What do you need Mom-oh. Hi."

Isaac stood in your kitchen, smirking at your shocked demeanor. The only person who knew about your relationship with Isaac was your mother, so she gave you a quick wink, "(Y/N), I don't know if you have met Isaac at school or not, but he is staying with us for a little while. Is that alright with you?"

You glanced around the room to find the one that Isaac and Melissa were putting on a show for. Scott stood with his arms crossed and his eyebrows raised for your response, so you game one of your usual shrugs and inspected your nails, "I don't care; as long as he does his chores."

You spun around to walk out of the room as you heard Isaac say, "Thanks. And, by the way, I like what you've done with your hair."

You threw a comment over your shoulder as you climbed back up the stairs, "It's a new fashion trend that you'll never get to see again; trust me."

You heard someone mutter something incomprehensible, which was followed by a yelp of pain. You chuckled as you could only imagine what Isaac could have said to make Scott hit him.

The first week that Isaac lived with you went by smoothly. There were no hiccups in your act of nonchalance towards each other, although you wanted to act like his girlfriend all the time. It was tough to not grab his hand whenever you wanted to or lean against him when the family watched a movie. Thankfully, the act was short lived.

One night when you were already sound asleep, you were rudely awakened by the sound of loud, erratic breathing from the corner of your room. You were on your feet in seconds, and you found the source to be Isaac clutching the wall and squeezing his eyes shut. You quickly walked over to him and placed your hands on his shoulders,

"Hey, hey, what's wrong?"

His eyes opened and were filled with panic, "I had an awful nightmare and I was going through flashbacks so I thought that coming in here would help them. I didn't mean to wake you up. I'm so sorry. I just thought that being in the same room as someone that cared about me as much as I cared about them would calm me down."

You ran your thumb over his cheek to try to slow his breathing, "It's alright! I'm glad that you woke me up, even if you didn't mean to. I'm here to help. Have you gotten any decent sleep tonight?" He shook his head, and you motioned with your head for him to follow you, "How about you just sleep in here tonight? I'm sure you can sneak back to your room before Scott wakes up in the morning."

You didn't allow him to argue as you grabbed his hand and pulled him to your bed. He awkwardly got under the covers on the other side as you rolled into your previous position. You snuggled close to him, and soon the pair of you had fallen into a deep, comfortable sleep.
