Serena had suspiciously trailed after Calem when he left. He exited from the side of the town facing Geosenge... Which meant only thing.
He was going to their home town.
She had no choice but to follow him. Yes, she may have not had any contact with her father and all- but he may have had contact with Calem. And if they had contact with each other... Calem could ask him about her.
The worst case scenario was that Serena's father could show him photos of her and recall her name for Calem.
She didn't know why, but she felt the need to lie to him in order to start again. And as long as she had a second chance, she was willing to stretch the truth beyond its extent.
-----
Serena lurched forward into the city. Right after her first step, a calm coastal breeze filled with sand blew into her face. "Merde!" she cursed and patted the sand off of her outfit. She coughed out some sand and rubbed her eyes before taking a quick glance at the city in front of her.
Cyllage City.
Her home.
She sighed and took a whiff of the coastal breeze "It... It's good to finally be home!"
Though no one heard her. People were all too distracted with their own business. Cafés were filled to the brim with tourists and locals. The sound of French was mostly evident in this city and the language had found a harmonious balance with English.
"I guess still need to follow him don't I...?" She ran after Calem who was walking towards his family's bach (Holiday home).
She trudged up the sandy drive way and instinctively veered to the left... headed straight for a thicket of thorns. She let out a yelp and hoped Calem didn't hear her.
Calem had just turned around to locate the house key which was sandwiched between the doormat and the floor.
"I heard someone there. I know you're there. If you're one of the Paparazzi, please, I need some rest. You did a fucking marvelous job and stalking me but whatever you want---"
"I'm not Paparazzi!" Serena yelled and immediately covered her mouth.
"Then who are you...?" He asked.
"I'm uh... no one! Nothing! Stop talking to yourself!" She shouted.
Calem raised an eyebrow in amusement.
- (Calem's) Flashback -
Another game of Hide 'n Seek.
"------! I know you're there!" He yelled and ran after a thump against the wall.
"I'm uh... No one! Nothing! Stop talking to yourself!" she yelled.
"No one's here!" She shouted added.
Another thump was heard "O-ow..."
He burst through the door and saw the girl hanging upside down from a mattress. Her head and unkempt blonde locks lying on the wooden floor. The girl's grey eyes were dappled with pieces of silver.
"Whoops..." She smiled.
He laughed "That's always your hiding place! Maybe you should change it next time."
"But I thought that it was hard to find me here!" She pouted and fell to the floor "O-O-Ow!"
"Are you alright?" he asked and bent down next to her.
"Yeah," she winced "I'm fine."
"You sure?" he queried.
"Yep. I'm completely sure. My head hurts a bit but... I'm fine."
