[Third person]
The girl left filled with guilt. She wasn't being honest to him. She thought it wasn't fair.
But little did she know... She wasn't the only one being lied to.
Calem, the boy left with a huge grin on his face. He didn't care if he lied. It was unfair that he had lied to her- but the girl who had lied to her years ago deserved something worse.
In his mind, the girl who had lied to him deserved a taste of her own medicine.
Desertion. Abandonment. Isolation.
-----
The dark haired boy announced that he had run out of time and told her that he had to go and hurriedly registered her onto his holocaster. With a wave and a convincing grin, he set off to Cyllage city. Back home.
He walked past the sinister stones on the way there and spotted some paparazzi. Diving behind one of the huge slabs of earth, he let them pass him and rush to Geosenge town. With a sigh, he reminded himself to be more careful and stealthy.
Minuscule pieces of gravel crunched beneath his feet as he neared the entrance to his hometown. The sun produced fiery hues from its tiny figure in the sky. He walked the vaguely familiar path back to his home and scavenged around for the key. It was hidden under the straw doormat.
He pressed the key into the lock and twisted it.
Click.
The hallway was dark and empty. Dust gathered into a corner and traces of resin piled on the floor into clumps. He inhaled the nostalgic scent and walked further to his old bedroom. A mattress covered by a pale blue mattress in the corner. A bookshelf held an assortment of poetry, children's books and scraps of paper filled with lyrics. His piano lay in the corner surrounded by crumpled music sheets.
-Flashback-
"Wait, you sing like that...?" The girl asked, shocked.
"Y-Yeah," he shyly admitted, digging his face into a pillow.
"Why don't you tell your mommy? She could teach you how to play on her piano," the girl suggested.
"Nah," was his muffled reply as he sat up.
"No way!" The girl responded "If I had a talent like that, I'd show it to the world!"
He shook his head "Oh please no..."
"MRS. XAVIER! YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO CALEM SING!" She bolted through his door and into the hallway.
"Oh... why?" Calem let himself fall backwards into the mattress and closed his eyes.
-End of Flashback-
He stepped towards his bed and stopped. A pair of shoes was on the floor.
And not just any shoes...
Dancing shoes.- Another Flashback -
"One, two, three four..." He muttered, trying to find a rythmn.
"One, two, three... One, two, three..." She mumbled and twirled.
Of course, they were counting different beats. Their feet tangled and they ended up colliding on the dance floor.
They both fell laughing and help each other up. He took her hand in his and shakily stood up. She took his other hand in hers and helped him balance.
"Some dance, huh?" He grinned.
"Yeah!" She smiled back.
Calem's mother just smirked in the corner, watching the two children dance.
"I think it goes: one, two, three..." Calem said.
"No. The beat goes like: one, two... One, two..." She frowned.
They ended up playfully fighting while trying to learn how to waltz.
-Flashback ends-
Calem sighed and picked up one of the old music sheets that were left on the floor.
He began to play music.
His fingers darted from one end of the piano to another.
No words, no lyrics.
Just pure music coming straight from his soul.-----
A/n:This wasn't quite 1000 words but it got halfway... That's okay, right?
Erm... So I was wondering what you think about this story...?
Any feels? Confusing parts? Anything weird? Too unrealistic?I'm not sure.
And I am sorry if this doesn't make any sense because I am just trying to mix in the lying and the plot outline I came up with.
You will never know if this had a happy or sad ending! B)
Oh, yes, the song attached to this chapter is a piano cover of "My Immortal by Evanescence" (supposedly that would be a song he played on the piano?)
Also, this chapter has a ton of flashbacks >.<
