Chapter 9

Zayn‘s POV;

We spend all afternoon like many others on the porch of our bungalow playing music before we had to get ready for our graduation ceremony. ‘See ya in a bit’ I said to Anna, she nodded and went into her house. Sadly, our school went all out with this ceremony, it was like a gala so I had to wear a suit which I wasn’t very fond of doing. As I walked upstairs to my room mom had already hung it on the door for me and so I grabbed it and put it on. I looked over to Anna’s and her curtains where still closed so obviously she was still getting ready. I walked downstair with my tie and asked mom to help me get it right. ‘How are you ever going to do this when I’m not there?’ she said teasingly and also emotional and I just smiled. ‘I just won’t wear one without you there mom’ I said and gave her a kiss on the cheek, ‘Thanks.’ Dad walked in and she had to do the same for him. ‘Make sure you teach Anna love’ he said to mom looking at me and I sighed as always. He’d always tease me with the friendship we had, he knew what it was but kept on being convinced that one day we’d fall in love and end up together. ‘I’m telling you son, you 2 are ending up together, you know what they say, the best foundation of a relationship is a good friendship’ and he winked. As we were all ready we went outside to wait for Anna and her family as we were driving there together and her dad was already outside on the phone looking extremely annoyed. ‘Can that man never be nice and stop working?!’ mom whispered in my ear and I laughed. Then Anna’s mom came out, ‘Anna hurry up! We gotta go!’ ‘Yes mom, I’m coming, calm down!’ I heard her yell back and then she came out and my mouth just dropped, she looked absolutely stunning! She had on this tight black dress which ended right above her knee but didn’t look to tacky or slutty or whatever girls called it. Her hair was curled and she had a light touch of make-up on. Ofcourse, Anna being Anna she had on converse all stars and no heels. ‘I don’t do heels’ she always said. Dad apparenly noticed my checking her out because he put his elbow in my side and gave me a wink ‘Told you so’ he whispered.
