Every 1000 years, gods of every pantheon convene and hold a conference to decide the fate of humanity by calling a vote to determine whether or not the human race should continue living or go extinct. With the most recent of these conferences having...
The human audience rose, overcome with awe as Jeanne unleashed her attack. A shockwave burst forth from the strike, sending a gust of wind that whipped through the arena, tossing their audience's hair into the air.
"Excellence, Jeanne!" The French army exclaimed. Eyes widened, mouths hung open in stunned silence from the gods, and every gaze was fixed on the ground below, where the stone floor had been reduced to a smoldering crater beneath her feet.
"Athena!" Ares shouted as he clenched his hand into a tight fist to ease the tension.
"Seems like you spoke too soon." Dionysus scoffed, shaking his head slowly.
"Oh, shut up!" Dionysus's teasing tone cut through the war god like a blade, striking a nerve in Ares. The war god lunged forward, seizing the god of wine by the collar.
"Oho? Are you gonna hit me?" Dionysus said as he reached out and gently tapped the tip of Ares' nose with his index finger while a mischievous smile danced on his lips.
"Tch!" Ares' teeth clicked together with restrained frustration as he slowly lowered Dionysus to the ground in disappointment.
"Hah...Hah..." Jeanne gasped for air as sweat trickled down her temple. She stood amidst the cracked ground, her hand trembling slightly from the sheer force of the blow she had just delivered. Her eyes narrowed as she looked down into the dust cloud below, where she had struck Athena. "I have to be honest...I didn't think that would actually work. But fortunately for me, that gamble worked!"
Suddenly, the log trembled in Jeanne's hands. Her eyes widened as she focused back on Athena. As the dust cleared out, Athena yanked her legs inward and propelled herself upward, dragging the log into the air along with her. Then, she landed hard on her feet, the chains still around her body.
"Didn't you know? In war, the moment you lose your senses is the moment you die." Athena stated as the log came crashing down between them, slamming into the ground as a barrier to their face-off.
"Hah...My apologies, Miss Athena. It seems I may have gotten a little too ahead of myself just now." Jeanne said between breaths as she rested her hand on the log in front of her. "But still, shouldn't you be more concerned about yourself?" She pointed at Athena, more specifically, at the chains around her body.
Raising her brows, the goddess glanced down at the chains around her body, then lifted her head back up before her lips curled into a smirk. "Don't worry about it. Because...I can still crush you even with this restraint. That last hit? Nothing more than a fluke." From Jeanne's perspective, the goddess' face was now partially obscured by shadows, her overwhelming aura radiating out of her body like an explosion. The pressure caused Jeanne to sweat lightly. Despite that, she let out a nervous giggle, trying to keep her composure.
