Halloween is a day that humans celebrate on October 31st. It was a day of horror, where everyone dressed up in costumes, whether it was "scary" or not. In Valhalla, they too celebrated Halloween...But, somehow, this Halloween was more frightening...
Panting and sweating, Set, dressed in a white dress shirt beneath a black jacket with a black-and-white cravat and a pair of leather gloves over his hands, was staring at the corpse sprawled before him, lying in a pool of blood. Around him, several others stood frozen...
[Valhalla - 11 hours ago]
[Aaru]
From the palace of the Egyptian Supreme God, Set, walked outside after waking up. Yawning, he rubbed his eyes before noticing the buildings were adorned with Halloween decorations such as carved pumpkins, glowing spider webs, and others. Set turned around and found his own palace similarly decorated before scratching his head. "Oh, right. Today's Halloween."
Then, someone tapped on Set's shoulder. The god turned around, and standing right behind him was a familiar face. A smile crept out from the god's teeth upon seeing them. "Hey, Set!"
[Simón Bolívar - Venezuela]
"Simón! My man!" Set exclaimed cheerfully as the two reached out and clasped each other's hands, performing their secret handshake.
"How have you been holding up?" Set asked with a smile.
Simón let out a hearty chuckle. "Ah, not dying is good enough!" He said, laughing at his own words, before his expression softened slightly. "Anyway, I didn't just come to chat. I've actually got something for you."
Reaching into his pocket, Simón pulled out a letter. He held it out toward Set with a small grin. "An invitation. Thought I'd deliver it personally."
"To what, exactly?" Set asked, holding the letter and glancing down at it.
"A Halloween party!" Simón said with a grin. "I'll be going, you should come with me!"
Set sighed as he scratched his head. "I don't know, man. I'm quite busy at the moment and I'm not really interested in this kind of part-"
Before he could finish, Simón said. "We get to wear those costumes we've been saving up for years."
Then, Set's eyes lit up. "...Deal."
"It's official, then!" Simón chuckled. Just as he was going to say something else, his stomach suddenly growled. He became silent for a moment before laughing it off. "But before we do that, let's grab some breakfast. I'm feeling peckish."
"Sure, but you're the one paying them," Set said with a teasing grin as he slung an arm around Simón's shoulder before the two began strolling down the street.
"What!? Are you serious? I thought you were the king here! Can't you treat me for once, you cheapskate?" He threw his other hand up dramatically, though the smile tugged at his lips, showing that he enjoyed Set's company.
As the two strolled down the streets of Aaru, a tall man with blond hair, wearing a pair of sunglasses with a scar on the right side of his face, sat outside a café. He lifted his cup, taking a sip of his drink while secretly watching the two walking by. "Hm."
Then, his phone rang. The man reached for it in his pocket, almost lazily, lifting it to his ear before answering. "Hello, hello? What do you need from me now?"
The man listened from the other end as he nodded along. "Uh huh...I understand, I'll be there tonight."
He ended the call and put the phone back in his pocket. He then lifted the drink and downed it in one gulp. "Man, that was good...and now." The man stood up, glanced in the direction of the two, and began to follow their tracks.
