Eddie stood up, he was at least 6'4".

"Let's go to a table so we can talk. Would ya'll like something to drink?" He said with a smile.

"Just water for me thanks." Kevin answered.

"Waters fine." Added Kirstie.

"Tommy, can we have two waters and a beer over here?" He said as he headed to a table in the corner.

They sat down and the blonde brought them their drinks.

"Sorry about being rude earlier, but I've had my fill of cops the last couple of years." Eddie said taking a swig of his beer. "So someone finally bought the kid's house."

Kirstie smiled and nodded, "It's my dream home."

"It was his too. He actually designed that house." He said leaning back in his chair eyeing the two. "You sure you two aren't cops."

Kirstie laughed. "I promise, we aren't cops. Just interested in the man."

Eddie leaned forward tearing at the label on his beer. "I met Avi, I guess he was about 16. He walked in like he was somebody. (he laughs) Knowing he was too young to be in here. But I didn't know he was that young. the beard threw me off. But he would come in every evening to watch the guys play pool. He became obsessed with it. He caught on pretty quick. Taught himself to play, got damn good at it. He would hustle people into playing games with him. He was making some pretty good money off the suckers.
As a mater of fact, that was his favorite pool table right over there. (pointing to a table that was on a higher level than the rest) Come mere, I want to show you something."

He leads them up a couple of steps to the pool table. Trophies lined the wall along with pictures of Avi, some pictures of him and Eddie together.

"I want you to look at this." he points to where Avi had carved his name on the table with a knife. "The little dick head carved his damn name on my table. He told me that when he became famous that the table would be worth a fortune. And believe it or not, I have been offered a LOT of money for this table since his death. But I can't part with it. That was his very first autograph and it's mine." He stares sadly at the carving. Kirstie was sure she seen tears fog his eyes.

"So all these trophies are Avi's?" Kevin asked as he looked at the trophies and Kirstie looked at the pictures.

"Yep, everyone of them. He was undefeated. And I'm proud to say it all started here. Sometimes I look over here and can just imagine him over here playing wearing that corny beanie. I got one of his beanies hanging on the wall right there beside one of his old sticks. Two years before he died I bought him a beautiful pool stick for Christmas. I had his name beautifully engraved on it. He called it 'Bass Cannon'. (He smiles in thought) He use to always do a silly dance after each win, some sort of body roll or something. Everyone started to expect to see it after he won. He was a trip. To know him was to love him. He just had something about him you couldn't help but love. Like a child. He was a sweetheart. I just don't understand how someone could hurt much less kill someone like that. I use to date his sister Esther. I loved her so much. We lived together for almost a year. Even talked about getting married. Then after Avi's death, something inside us died too. We just drifted apart.
We had a fundraising tournament scheduled for that day. To raise money for a friend of mine and Avi's who's little girl had cancer. Avi was the headliner. When he didn't show up, I tried calling him several times getting no answer. So I left the bar to go check on him. When I got to the cabin I found the door open a couple of inches. (tears started to roll down the big man's face) My heart stopped, I don't think I was even breathing. I pushed the door opened and listened. The house was so quiet, an eerie quiet. I stepped in calling him a few times. I turned toward the staircase and my heart dropped. I first thought maybe he had fallen down the stairs until I got closer. He was lying in a pool of his own blood. His head......" He couldn't finish, he broke down in tears. Kirstie and Kevin were also crying.

Eddie stayed quiet a minute trying to gain control, "It still haunts me to this day. He was like a little brother to me. I helped him thru some hard times. I miss him so much."

"Eddie, can I ask you a really stupid question?" Kirstie said wiping her tears.

He chuckles also wiping tears, "I guess so."

She looks at Kevin then back at Eddie, "Do you believe in the Paranormal?"
