Unexpected House Guest ( Book 1 )

Chapter 23

"Avi is gonna be so excited." Kirstie smiles as they pull into the drive-way.

"Yep, he's gonna be bouncing off the walls." Kevin laughs.

"Oh Lord." She moans.

She quietly opens the door and peeks in. No sign of Avi. She could hear a Nascar game blaring from the T.V. in the living room. She motions for Kevin to follow her, putting a finger to her lips telling him to be quiet. They tiptoe to the entrance way of the living room.

Avi is sitting on the floor just a few feet from the T.V., his eyes glued to the racing game he was playing. They looked at each other and quietly giggled at his serious face.

Suddenly he throws the controller, "UGH!!! JEFF GORDON!! YOU  SORRY MOTHER.."

"AVI!!!!!" Kirstie yells interrupting his tantrum causing him to jump.

"KIRSTIE!!" He jumps up running to her, grabbing her into a tight hug, as if he hasn't seen her in months. She laughs hugging him back.

"WELL! WHAT DID HE SAY? DID HE BELIEVE YOU? HOW DID HE TAKE IT? HAS HE MISSED ME?? IS HE COMING TO THE PARTY? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHY ARE YOU ANSWERING ME??" He shoots out questions like a machine gun.

"AVI!!" Kirstie finally shouted, causing him to lock his lips. "Sweetie, calm down. Oh My God. You're giving me a headache. You're gonna have a stroke."

"That's physically impossible for a dead person to have a stroke." Avi replied calmly.

"WHAT!!?? says a confused Kirstie causing Kevin to burst into laughter. "Oh My Lord." She says shaking her head. This ghost child is gonna be the death of her yet. "Anyway, he can't come to the party tomorrow night, he has to be at the bar. (Avi pouts) BUT he's coming Sunday. (Avi smiles) We listened to him talk about you. He really cares a lot about you. We were finally able to convince him that you were here. And Yes he's excited to see you again and yes he will be here Sunday."

"YESSS!!" Avi yells fist pumping the air, jumping around like a four year old who just got a puppy for Christmas. He grabs Kirstie by her shoulders shaking her, "KIRSTIE! KIRSTIE! I'M GOING TO GET TO SEE MY BIG BUDDY!! I'M SO EXCITED!!"

"KEVIN!" Kirstie screams, "GET THIS LUNATIC OFF OF ME!!" By this time Kevin is practically in the floor laughing. It was like Avi had completely lost control. 

Kevin manage to grab Avi's arms, "Avi, will you PLEASE calm down."

"KEVIN, I"M SO EXCITED!!" Suddenly Avi's smile fades. "Uh oh, Overload."

In a blink of an eye, Avi's body vanishes and a small orb of light floats slowly to the ceiling.

Kevin and Kirstie watched with shocked faces.

"What the hell just happened?" Kevin ask.

"I don't know." Kirstie answered.

"Is that suppose to happen?" Kevin ask watching the little orb floating near the ceiling. 

"I don't know." She answers with a worried face.
