Abby
I don't know. I guess sitting here in the car makes you wonder things. My mind keeps drifting to a hurting redneck and with every vein in my body I hope he is okay. I understood him better than anyone else in the group and I just know he is taking this pretty bad.

My fingers reach for the piece of metal that lays around my neck only to find it not there. My eyes widen when I can't feel it, even with my fingertips. I look around my area and can't find the gleaming silver.

"Where's my necklace?" I ask loudly. Autumn turns her head to look at me but doesn't say anything. "Did you take it?" I yell.

"N-no. You didn't have one on." She looks at me and then the road.

"It must be at the barn. We have to go back!" I yell.

"We can't." She shakes her head.

"It has to be back there!" I yell. "We have to!"

"Abby," she yells, "the barn is twenty miles the other direction. If you want to make it this week then we can't go back."

I throw my head back against the head rest. "You don't understand." I close my eyes.

I can feel her eyes on me. "Then make me understand." I open my eyes and look at her. "I want to understand."

"It's pointless," I shrug.

"No it's not. Tell me everything," she pesters.

I sigh loudly, "We have to go back to the start." I whisper.

"Then take me there. I want to go back."

I smile as I stare out the window. "It was after losing my brother. I wanted to find him so badly. I knew I needed food. I hadn't eaten in days or slept; so I wandered out of the city. I stumbled along a group. The next day I hear this scream and I run to it. Little Carl and Sophia found a walker eating this deer with arrows sticking out of it. Then this dirty man steps out of the woods. Let me tell you he had the most beautiful green eyes I have ever seen. There were like emeralds." I pause and smile at the memory. "I don't know what happened from that event on. It was like as long as those emeralds were still shining everything would be alright. You know? It was weird because at the same time I was in love with this man. He was a deputy and he is one of the most honorable men I have ever met. Really. He is a man of authority and trust. He found out his wife cheated on him. Since then I wanted to protect him from everything and anything. I offered him my love. I knew it was wrong but I couldn't help it. I tried to deny it but it only landed me in more trouble. I loved two men and I wish I told one that I did." I close my eyes as I lean back. "When I was out on a run with one of them I kept going on and on about pointless numbers and how I always wanted a nice necklace but I had no one to give me one. He jumped over that counter and picked it out. That small action said so much to me. It made me realize I had him. I had someone special and how much I had taken advantage of him."

Autumn doesn't say anything for a minute. "So which one do you love more?"

I close my eyes and ponder the question. "I really don't know. When I am with one, it's like I have to live up to his expectations but when I am with the other I feel like I don't. I can be me." I look over to Autumn to see her nodding along to my words. "I know I sound like a whore."

"It's not like you slept with both." She laughs. I look out the window. "Wait, have you?"

"Like I said, whore." I point to myself.

After that she stays quiet. It was nice to actually come clean and be able to say stuff that I would never of said. It's nice to not have that weight on my shoulders anymore.

"Abby!"

I turn around and smile widely at Rick. I run up to him and wrap my arms around his shoulders. I can feel his body stiffen underneath me. Confused, I pull back. I look at him as his eyes drift away from mine. His eyes find someone's else. I turn around to see two bright emeralds coming closer to us. He looks hurt.

"Daryl?" I place my hand on his shoulder. I feel his forehead and he is burning up. I look down to see his shirt torn and blood seeping out. "Oh my god!" I lift up his shirt and see a huge wound on his stomach. I turn around to Rick, "help! Please!"

I look down to Rick to see his shoulder is now bleeding. I peel his shirt down to find a bite mark across his shoulder.

"One or the other." I hear an unfamiliar voice call.

"What?" I call out.

"Save one. Kill the other."

I look around to see one bandage and one pill. I look at both of them and frown. I run over and start to wrap Daryl's stomach up. I hand Rick the pill as I tend to Daryl.

I look at Rick to see him healing. I look at Daryl's wound to see it getting worse. "NO!" I scream when Daryl's eyes start to flutter. "Help! Rick!" I turn around to see Rick walking away, unharmed. This can't be happening.

I look around the room for anything. My eyes come across a silver pistol with one bullet laying next to it.

"Put him out of his misery or have the infection kill him." The same voice I hear earlier calls.

"No. No. No." I shake my head as I begin to sob. "You can't make me!" I call out.

"Hurry."

I look at Daryl to find him drenched in sweat. His body is shaking slightly. I squeeze my eyes shut as I walk over to the pistol. It's Rick's colt. I put the bullet in and click it shut.

"I am so sorry." I whisper as I bring the gun to his head. I turn my head as I pull the trigger.

I sit up in my seat. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn to see Autumn's wide blue eyes filled with worry.

"Want to talk?"

"No."
