"What the fuck?" Abby hears Daryl's voice call as she stands in front of him. She can hear footsteps off in the distance.
"W-what?" Rick's southern voice say behind her. She turns around and her eyes land on him for the first time. She can't even wrap her head around to the fact that they are here. She smiles widely at both of them.
"You are supposed to be dead." Daryl says.
"But I'm not." Abby smiles widely. She looks at both of them waiting for something. "No hug? Nothing?"
"We mourned you. We cried over you. You don't deserve any of us-"
I jolt awake. I look around the unfamiliar room. The curtains are drawn open letting the sunlight into the room. I sit up in the bed and wince.
"Nice for you too wake up." I hear an unfamiliar voice say behind me. I turn around and see a blonde hair with strawberry red highlights in her hair. Her blue eyes meet mine and she gives me a light smile. "My name is Autumn. You've been out for 3-4 weeks. Can you tell me the last thing you remember."
I furrow my eyebrows and think. "I remember talking to my friend. I told him to let me go."
"Anything else?"
"I saw someone watching me but then everything goes black." I nod as I look around the room.
"Okay, I arrived just in time. You were out cold but still had a pulse. You were burnt badly but I had this medicine that helped you healed. You do have scars." She explains.
"Alright." I nod. "Did you see anybody leave?"
"What do you mean?"
"A guy with a crossbow?" I ask.
"No I didn't." She looks down. "By the time I got there no one was around. What is your name?"
"A-Abby."
"Nice to meet you."
"Do you have any food?" I ask quietly.
"Yeah, here." She hands me a tray. I take the sandwich in my hands and bite into it. I feel myself feel better instantly.
"I need to find my group." I state after the first few bites of my sandwich. "They need to know that I am okay. Do you know if we are near the highway?"
"We are about 40 miles away from it." She says.
I look down and sigh loudly. "Where we are at its about 20 miles off of the highway and I don't know where to get off at." I rub my face with my hands. I shoot up. I open and close my hands. I rub my hands on the blanket. Nothing. "I feel nothing!" I yell. I scratch at my hands but still nothing. "Why? Why can't I feel anything?" I say through light tears.
"Your burns were really bad. I am surprised you healed this quickly. But I do think it will come back." She looks at me with concerned filled eyes.
"Un-fucking-believable. When can I catch a god damn break!" I yell at the top of my lungs. Autumn stares at me in shock. "I have been through so much shit and this is what I get?" The statement wasnt looking for a reply so all Autumn did was look away. It took me a while but I calmed down eventually. "I am heading out tomorrow. I need to find my group." I say quietly.
"I'll help. I know from here to the highway but you need to lead the way from there." She says.
"Do you have a map?" I ask. She nods before getting up. She exits the room and comes back 5 minutes later with a map in hand. "My group is located at Meriwether County Correctional Facility."
