(Hazel in the Media)
*Kindle's POV*
I woke up the next morning not feeling school at all. My lips are still swollen with its own heart beat. I even had to get stitches in my lip. I checked my phone and saw 10 missed calls and 5 text messages from Kayla, but I didn't reply. I don't have anything to say for the simple fact she should have told me we as going to her Tiana's house, not give me an unpleasant surprise.
I got up and rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a shower, I was running late asf. 20 minutes later I was sitting on my bed trying to finish tying my shoes. I really don't think I should go to class, but I refuse to let someone punk me and not go. I grabbed my helmet and keys than headed out to my motorcycle.
As soon as I put my helmet on I noticed a light skin girl walking towards the main building parking lot. Her hair was flowing in the wind as her hips were swaying. She had a nice walk and an even nicer body. She must be new. I started my bike and headed to class making sure she noticed me as I drove by.
As I pulled up in student parking I noticed Kayla and Tiana getting out of Kayla's car. I made sure I parked nowhere near her. I turned my bike off, pulled my kick stand down and hopped off, scanning my surroundings. I took my helmet off and walked fast to the side entrance to the building my class was in, I didn't want to deal with drama.
I walked inside and went directly to the back of class to avoid talking to anyone. My lip looked horrible. I don't really talk to anyone in my classes, I just go in take my notes and leave. I completed 16 credit hours in my first semester, now I'm just trying to get all of my general classes out of the way. I laid my head down on the desk until I heard my professor walk in greeting the class. As soon as we started taking notes the girl I noticed walking walk inside the class.
My professor mean mugged her as she closed the door behind her. "You must be Hazel Davis and you're late. Take a seat quickly." She scanned the room for seats and her eyes landed on the one beside me.
As she approached the seat I avoided eye contact with her. "Is anyone sitting here?" Her voice had a soft melody to it. I shook my head no. She hesitated a little before pulling the seat back and sitting down.
Professor Gates made everyone pair up for a oral presentation she assigned, Hazel became my partner voluntarily. "Oh, well um I'm Hazel." She extended her hand out with a smile on her face. I smirked and shook her hand.
All I could do was stare in her hazel eyes, they had this sparkle in them that just made my heart slowly melt. I finally broke out of my daze. "I'm Kindle."
"Well Kindle I am excited to work with you. We can work on the presentation whenever your free. We can meet in the library." She glanced at my lip than directed her attention back into my eyes.
"Um, yeah sure that's fine." I kept my head forward so she wouldn't stare at my lip. "I'll give you my number." I pulled out a pen and started writing on a piece of paper, but she interrupted me.
"Or you can just text me. 555-6678 and you don't have to hide your lip I'm not going to ask you about it or judge you. Shit happens, right?". She stood up, grabbed her stuff than walked out the classroom.
I picked up my book bag and followed behind her. "Yo, wait up real quick." she turned around than rolled her eyes. "My biggest pet peeve is being called a "yo" or "ma" or whatever else my name isn't." She had a cute frown on her face.
I smirked than apologized. "Can I at least give you a ride to where your going? It's getting pretty cold outside." She shook her head no with a smile.
"No ma'am, I'm good. I'm not really a big fan of motorcycles, Thank you though. Don't forget to text me." She walked away and disappeared through the double doors. Her walk looked like a ballerina walk, it was so smooth, so... sexy.
I was trying so hard not to watch her walk away, but I did anyway. I'm really picky when it comes to females and she just caught my eye. On my way to the gym I saw Kayla standing outside my dorm building. I didn't know what she wanted or why she had the balls to even try to talk to me, but I give her an A for effort.
I walked passed her like I never knew her a day in my life. "Seriously Desirae? Let's not be petty right now" She only calls me by my middle name when she's mad at me. I ignored her. She grabbed my arm and stood in front of me "You don't hear me talking to you?"
I gripped her wrist and put it up to her eyes "Or have you not learned your lesson from doing that!?"
Her facial expression changed and she backed up away from me "Kindle I don't know what monster you have turned into, but this is not okay".
"Remember all the times I told you it's a side of me you would never want to see and I always stay calm to not go back to that person? Well here it is" I walked passed her again.
"But I didn't do anything besides make a stupid mistake, Kindle I don't know what she did to you or the past y'all have, but I have nothing to do with that" She called after me.
I turned around "But the apple don't fall too far from the tree, so think about it.".
Her whole face turned sad and tears formed in her eyes. I really don't like seeing Kayla like this, but I have to protect myself. If I don't who else will? I've been hurt enough and I'm always taken for granted. The line is drawn and I'm not erasing it for anyone, not even my best friend.
As I walked through the gym doors I saw Tiana talking to my basketball coach only thing I could say was "Aw Hell." What is about to happen now?
