Chapter 9 A Visit to Shayfield

It was a long trip back to Shayfield village, taking two nights and two days then as it was getting dark we arrived. No message was sent in advance of our arrival so a surprise it was for sure. Landing high up on the highest peak of the castle top of Sheams, Kar stopped to let Violet and Androw off, then she walked behind the wall where Violet helped her into a dress. Then out Karima came walking over to Androw's side reaching for his arm, and Violet for his other. They laughed out loud then headed inside a warm bed was in order for sure.

Sure as they entered the castle walls, they did meet a friendly guard who escorted them to their rooms for the night. A maid was sent in with instructions to ready the rooms; then a word was sent to the king and queen that they had arrived. They would see them the next day after a rest, not to bother them till mid morning, then they all took to bed and slept through the night.

The next morning came as Karima woke up to a knock on her door, in walked her old handmaiden. “If it pleases the Lady shall I fix a tub of water for a bath?” Yes please and I will like for the same for the lady Violet next door if you will, and also please bring us both tea and cakes for breakfast please.” I asked my handmaiden “As you wish My Lady” AH YES... it is so nice to be back home again. I missed it so. “What was that Lady Karima?” The lady Violet asked. “Giggle Oh I was just thinking how nice it was to be back home again back in my own bed with my old handmaiden I missed it so.”

The maids and two handmaiden came into Karima and Violets room with tubs and food for them both startling Violet with the service, “My Lady Karima? Can you hear me please I beg of you?” Violet pleaded. “Why yes dear Violet what is it?” “There is a maid servant here filling a tub with hot water and another bringing food for me to eat this is quite improper My Lady.” Violet is uncomfortable now. She hears laughing in her head. “Violet I have ordered this for you and myself also this handmaiden is yours for as long as you stay here in the Castle Sheams, You are no longer my handmaiden you are our guest. Enjoy your royal treatment you earned it, oh and look in your armoire and I do believe you will find some suitable cloths for you to wear while you are here at the castle, you handmaiden will help you dress once you are finished bathing.” The Lady Karima explained to The Lady Violet

“You are too good to me My Lady. I cannot accept such luxuries to which I do not deserve to wear” Violet protested.

“Lady Violet if I must I shall order it! That’s it, you better enjoy your bath. I will knock on your door in a while to bring you down to court.

“Yes My Lady as you wish.”

I finished up my long relaxing bath and tea with biscuits before heading next door to get The Lady Violet to show her around our beautiful home. As I walk up to her door I reach out to her in my mind and ask her. “Are you presentable and ready for a tour of the castle” “She says yes the giggled” So I tell her to come to the door and open it.

“Good morning” I say you clean up well, I giggle a little bit, Violet blushes red in the face then I grab her hand and pull her down the corridor for a walk. Violet asks me. “Why I am treating her like she is of royal stature?” I tell her “From this day forward with the direct link to me and Sir Androw you are now of royal statue, so as being such, you deserve the finest when you are here and when you are out with me in the Village of Shayfield, you will need for nothing as long as you are here, with just one word, the servants will come to your beckon call. I will introduce you to the King and Queen at our midday meal today, just do as I do, you will be fine and sit by me and answer their questions as best you can. You have nothing to fear from them they are not like other King and Queens they treat everyone fair and just.” I explained all the questions she had and how her life was going to change from this day forward.

“Your royal Highness may I introduce Sir Androw, the Lady Karima of Sheams and the Lady Violet of Canterbury” I hear as we walk in. I hold Violets hand as we walk before the my parents as they sit, and we both walk right in front of their table then curtsy low and stay there till my father the king says “Rise and take a seat.” Androw was behind us bowing then followed us taking the seat to the right of his father. We then sat to the left of my mother and Violet to the left of me. The minute we were seated the food was brought out for all to eat, there was mulled wine to drink and meats of all kinds breads and fruits too. Mom and I talked through out the meal and I included Violet so she would not be left out. I explained to mom what I did to Violet that I had to do for my safety, so in the end Mom gave her a hug, and welcomed her into the family, Lady Violet of Canterbury, was part of the royal family. She would be treated with all respect due a princess of Sheams.

We stayed in Shayfield for two days, then headed off, so we packed some food and water for out trip, then off we headed toward the assigned location, the village of Parkgate.

Our arrival was met with the arrival of the reinforcements that the King had sent with us, to help out for this mission. We landed hidden in the woods behind the encampment, so as not to scare off the army and villages. It took us two day to get there from Shayfield and all were tired from the long trip. In the morning we would find out the plans for what is going on at this village.
