Addie's secret Leo notebook
June 20th
Lee,
I feel like you're taking me on a honeymoon. With my brother and sister. Instead of after a wedding, it's after a funeral. I can't wait!

Leo and I had sex five times before our first date. Our first date wasn't the trip to Hawaii, it was a trip to the pharmacy so that I could pick up my birth control and he could stock up on condoms. Why both methods of protection? Because I'd only recently mastered this whole unplanned-parenting thing and I wasn't going to chance having to deal with becoming a mother again. So yeah, both.
Leo also bought me a booster seat so that I could sit next to him in his truck. Before we left for Hawaii a week later, we had sex nine times. Leo told me that if he was the one counting, I'd give him crap for it.
"Fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, here we are!" Beatrice cried as she skipped down the plane aisle.
Gabe walked ahead of Leo, who was carrying me. We all followed Beatrice.
Beatrice slid down into one of the aisle seats. Leo placed me in the aisle seat across from Beatrice, and moved sit next to me, but Gabe slid in before he could.
"Gabe, could you—"
"I'm not moving," Gabe interrupted.
Sighing, I eyed Leo who scratched his neck.
"I'll um, I'll just sit near Beatrice."
"I'm not leftovers," Beatrice said as she crossed her legs.
Leo sat near her. I smacked my brother.
"I'm looking out for you. That guy's trouble."
I groaned. Gabe had been on Leo's case since he walked through our door. "He's taking the four of us on a free vacation because—"
"He wants to get in your pants," Gabe muttered.
"I let him get in my pants. And he knows we all had good time the last time we went. You're not Dad."
"You're not Mom."
"I'm Sister Mother."
"To Beatrice."
"And you." I patted Gabe's hand. "I don't care if you're eighteen. I am to you what I am to Bea. Mom and Dad wanted me to take care of both of you."
"They'd want someone to take care of you too. So, I'm going to be up Leo's ass for a while. You and Bea are way too hung up on him. Someone needs to make sure he doesn't get too comfortable."
I sighed, but swung my arm around my brother. "Thanks for looking out for me."
I'd gotten better at letting people take care of me since the custody case, and even more since Leo showed up. He didn't make a big deal about carrying me or putting my wheelchair together. After waiting so long for the right time to be together, I didn't have the slightest urge to argue against him being Snow Shoveler.
I glanced at Leo and Beatrice. They were talking and her face was lit up more than it had been in a while. I think she was in awe of him, almost as much as I was. For our second date, Leo brought pizza to our house and the four of us watched a movie. He was dating my family as well as me.
