"Aye man this mufucka is nice though. I think she'll for sure like the venue." I told Riek as we looked around at Merle Manders.                                                                                                                           "Yeah...she has a thing for cabins too and how it looks outside for sure fits the mold. Then on top of all of that, this inside it dope. She gone love that big ass ballroom." he said.                            "The way the crew be cutting up, they need all of that space." Tony said.                                               "No for real because at the graduation party, I was surprised y'all house had enough room for all that was going down." Kev said looking at me.                                                                                                         "What you mean? That was you and Dom who was being extra." I said and we all laughed.               "I don't know bruh, I do remember your girl dancing on the island, right?" Jay added and we all laughed again. I forgot all about that part of it.                                                                                                        "I take it back." I said with a shrug. We were so lit that night, I forgot it took place, but it happened. "Anyways...Jay did you figure out where y'all doing the big ceremony at?" I asked as I was changing the subject.                                                                                                                                                  "I was looking at the Roof at Ponce City Market." he said.                                                                                  "That's a dope spot. Your pictures gone be fire." Kev said.                                                                                  "Mannnn swear they is. Them views are top tier." Tony said.                                                                               "Must be nice, but I'm not hip." I said to him as Riek walked over and showed me some pictures. "Oh hell yeah! Good shit Jay." I told him, he chose a real good spot.                                                               "Yeah I feel like this is the perfect spot because it's classy but still fun. Plus she's one of those people who loves the outdoors. Hell sometimes we be chillin sitting on the roof at the crib so I just know she gone love every moment of that." he said to us.                                                                     "That's old school right there boy." Riek said as they shook hands.                                                            "But that's perfect though. That shows her you put thought into and shit. That level of communication and comprehension is what's gone make y'all last. I respect it." Kev said.              "Big facts!" Tony said as we all kinda kept looking around before Riek went ahead and put the deposit down on the venue. I started to walk out of the place and head towards the truck.              "Charles Taylor?" I heard a voice say that sounded real familiar and I turned in that direction. "You looking like who the fuck is she?" she said as she walked over closer. "Remember me now?" she asked and I'm not even gonna lie, she's a hard person to forget.                                           "Emerald, how have you been?" I asked as she walked up and hugged me.                                              "I've been well, not as well as you though Big Time." she said with a smile.                                               "Stop! You know I'm still Chuck from the block." I said trying to calm that down.                                    "Bullshit! You seem to be the man to end up in front of if you've got talent. You have a nice arsenal of artists in your stable. I admire that." she said with this big ass smile. Mannnn I used to want shorty so bad back in Chicago, she better chill.                                                                                             "I appreciate that. What brings you down to the A?" I asked her.                                                                      "I'm actually interning at a label." she said to me. I never thought we'd be walking in the same circles. Shorty graduated at like 14, super smart and pretty as hell. Shit is insane.                                "That's what's up. Don't be trying to poach any of my artists, I'd hate to beef with you." I said.        "Chill on me! Naw I'm in for A&R not doing what you do, but I mean you may need my services some day. I mean of course we both find talent, but I'm looking for talent that hasn't been discovered yet. You've solidified your artis...wait...is that some there?" she said as her eyes got big as fuck. I waved them over for a minute.                                                                                                             "Hey Riek and Kev, I got someone who'd love to meet you." I said as they walked over. "Fellas, this is Emerald. She's actually an old friend from Chicago but she's down this way with another label." I said as a brief introduction.                                                                                                                              "I'm not gone beat y'all, can I get a pic?" she said and they both nodded and got in the picture for her. "Influx, you've some a long way brutha. You was a little rugged as Little Man, but we see the evolution as Influx. Respect!" she said to him.                                                                                                "I appreciate that more than you know." he said real modest.                                                                          "And Riek...nobody would've ever guessed you had bars, but you're the Hip Hop Jimi Hendrix. That's hot for real." she told him.                                                                                                                                     "I appreciate that mama. Seems like you might be working with the wrong label." Riek said smiling at her and then she shot a smile at me.                                                                                                    "You may be right. I'll have to pass C my card, who knows maybe one day I'll be more than just a fan of you both." she said as she handed me her card. "Nice to meet you both." she said as they started to walk off. "Nice! So, who's the one getting married?" she asked me.                                           "Excuse me?" I said because the question caught me off guard.                                                                     "Y'all came from the venue, I was just wondering who was the lucky guy?" she said sweetly.         "Oh...Riek was actually looking at the venue for his pending nuptials." I told her.                                    "That's what's up. Congrats to them. What about you, you still with that crazy ass girl?"                 "Iris isn't that bad and yes. We're actually really close to our wedding date." I told her.                    "Aww that's too bad...I mean congratulations." she said trying to quickly recover from that knee jerk reaction and I just smiled.                                                                                                                                         "But you take it easy and I may just hit you up on the business tip." I told her.                                          "Do that." she said as she walked off and I walked to my truck.                                                                        "Nigga that girl just smiled at you with her pussy." Jay said and we all laughed. Leave it to this nigga.
