Ana felt like shit when she started regaining consciousness. She couldn't stop the groan that left her lips, her head still foggy.
" Ms.Romanoff, I'm so glad you could join us," a man spoke, his accent almost as thick as hers.
She opened her eyes, trying to take in her surroundings. The lights did nothing to help the oncoming migraine she had.
She tried to move her arms, noticing they were clamped down to where she was sitting. They took her metal limbs away, leaving her with the scars she refused to look at.
What made it worse was the box surrounding her. She knew it was too thick for her to break out of, and she could feel her powers being dampened.
In the same cell next to her was Bucky. His head was tilted down, his body slumped in defeat.
" Where am I? Why am I here?" she growled, glaring at the man.
" I have been sent by the United Nations to evaluate you both," the man replied, sitting at the desk in front of them.
" Bullshit,"
" You don't believe me? Well, that's okay. You don't have to talk, I'm only interested in one thing."
The man dug into his bag, pulling out two small notebooks. One a dirty red with a black star, and the other a worn white with gold angel wings on them.
Ana felt her face pale at the sight of the thing. She thought that her documents had all been destroyed or died with Strucker but she was wrong.
Bucky had the same reaction, stiffening as he saw his own relic from the past.
" I want to talk about your homes. Not Romania. Not Russia. Certainly not Brooklyn. Your real home."
Both of the former assassins started squirming, trying to break out of their restraints. Ana felt weak, sweat dripping from her forehead. Her lungs refused to hold air, her pulse ringing in her ears.
The man pivoted toward Bucky, focusing on him first. It didn't do anything to help her, she knew it wouldn't be long before it was her turn.
She watched as the normally stoic man panicked, ripping his metal fist from its restraints.
She closed her eyes when he started shouting. As the interviewer kept saying words his resolve broke down.
Unfortunately by the time Bucky smashed through the glass all of his words had been spoken.
When he stood up his form was perfectly straight, eyes devoid of any emotions.
Seeing him like that terrified Ana. She hadn't been around the soldier in years, she was fine not breaking that streak.
" Soldat?" the interviewer tested. (Soldier?)
" Gotovy podchinit'sya," the Winter Soldier spoke. (Ready to comply)
Smiling at his work, the man turned toward her, making her breath hitch.
" No, please don't do this," Ana cried, pleading with the man.
" Ангел," the man spoke, his smile getting wider. (Angel)
She let out an ear-piercing scream, trying to pry her arms free.
" Снег, богиня, власть," (Snow, Goddess, Power)
Her mind began to become cloudy as she kept pleading, sobs racking her body.
" Смерть," (Death)
Her body slumped, out of her control. She couldn't do anything but watch as the light faded around her.
