"Oh God, oh God, oh God." I muttered as I started pacing. Charlie shut the curtains then sat on the sofa. He looked up at me and watched at I carried on pacing.

"Sit down." He murmured.

"What? Why?"

"Because you're distracting." He replied. I sighed loudly but sat next to him.

"What are we going to do?" I whispered.

"Have you got a basement?" Charlie asked.

"Yeah why?" I replied.

"Well if it comes to it I could stay there." Charlie shrugged. The idea of Charlie staying here made me feel excited, scared and weirdly safe all at the same time.

"They must be breaking some kind of rule by surrounding the house like that." I sighed.

"As long as they don't come in here they aren't doing anything that is even slightly considered as breaking the rules." Charlie shrugged.

"How does that even work? I learnt the basic rules but I don't get how the whole border thing works." I asked.

"The rules are that we vampires can only enter certain parts of the wolf town and that they can't come into our vampire part of town as they have absolutely no business there. I suppose now to me, your house is like a part of vampire town even though it's just inside the area that vampires aren't allowed in." Charlie explained.

"So are we just going to sit here or are we going to try and do something about getting you back to your.. Home?" I asked.

"In a hurry to get rid of me?" He smirked.

"No it's just that every time you show up, I seem to get into trouble." I smirked back. Charlie took one look at the bruise on my face then his grin dropped.

"I won't let them hurt you." Charlie said seriously. He glanced up to the window. Even though the curtains were shut, it was like he could see the wolves out there. I couldn't help but wonder why he seemed so... Protective? I was just a human. Whether I saved him from the wolves a few nights ago or not. I got up and started to pace. I could feel Charlie's eyes on me with every step I took. Everything felt so weird. Why wasn't I afraid of him? He was a vampire after all. Why, instead of being freaked out by him staring at me, was I feeling safe and almost comfortable? I sighed as I turned to start pacing back to the sofa. As soon as I turned I almost walked straight into Charlie.

"Okay I'm serious I will tie a bell around your neck." I warned as I tried to walk around him. He blocked my path every time. I looked up into his eyes. He was looking at me in what looked like wonder and something else that I just couldn't comprehend.

"What are you thinking?" He mused.

"Could ask you the same thing." I replied. He smiled at that. I couldn't help but glance at his lips. They looked soft and... Wait what was I thinking? I sighed then side-stepped past him, this time he allowed me to do so. "What were you doing out there anyway?" I asked.

"Where?" He asked, shooting me a puzzled look.

"Out there when you found me." I sighed.

"I was looking for someone." He shrugged.

"Did you find them?" I asked.

"I'm looking at them." He smirked. I smiled sheepishly then looked away before I blushed.

"I don't understand why you are here risking your life for me. You step outside of here they will attack you." I sighed.

"I suppose I'm here 'cause you fascinate me. You don't seem scared of me. Instead you seem scared for me." He mused, tilting his head as he looked at me.
