Charlie stayed with me for hours. So long in fact, that by the time he did leave the sky was already starting to grow lighter. I hadn't slept at all so I ended up calling in sick and collapsing in my bed. I felt guilty about lying to my boss but I didn't have the energy to go in.

I was woken up at twelve in the afternoon to a banging at my door. I begrudgingly crawled out of my bed and downstairs. When I opened the door, I was practically pounced on by Lisa. I yelped loudly, catching us both from falling.

"Damn it woman! Would you answer your phone once in awhile?" She screeched, hitting my arm.

"Ow! I'm sorry! I didn't sleep at all last night so I was sleeping now!" I whined.

"Well why the hell didn't you sleep like a normal person!" She demanded.

"I was... Well Charlie was kind of here..." I trailed off, shrugging my shoulders.

"Charlie eh?" Lisa wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. She shut my front door and we walked into the living room.

"Shut up!"

"Hey when you pull an all nighter with a vamp who you clearly love, it makes the mind wonder. Did you..."

"What? No! We just talked... It was nice."

"What the hell could be so important that you would bunk off work for? You never skip a day! I know you pretty well woman!" She muttered.

"Just stuff. Nothing serious so don't worry. I guess I lost track of time, when he left the sky was actually starting to get light outside so I called in sick and went to bed. I didn't mean to worry you." I shrugged.

"Well you did! After everything we researched yesterday and then with all this vampire stuff, of course I'm going to worry when you don't turn up for work! I'm meant to be there right now but I asked our boss if I could quickly check on you."

"I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to worry you."

"Hm. It's fine I guess. But I swear to god, if you ever do that to me again I will come round here and break down your door woman!" She warned, glaring at me. I grinned like a little kid and hugged her tightly.

"Yes Lisa! I'm sorry!" I cried loudly into her ear.

"Shut up! And get off you weirdo!" She screeched, pushing me off. I laughed loudly, falling onto my back.

"How long you got till you have to be back? Bare in mind I can't really leave the house if I'm meant to be ill."

"About twenty minutes I suppose. By the way I have some gossip for you, but you're not going to like it..." She trailed off.

"Spill." I ordered.

"Well... Rory came to see me. He demanded that I talked some sense into you. He wants you to go back to the council and beg for protection."

"Not a chance." I muttered begrudgingly.

"That's what I told him you would say! Anyway he walked off muttering something about taking it into his own hands." She shrugged.

"What the hell does that mean?" I asked. Lisa just shrugged again.

"I don't know but I did a little reading into wolves. Did you know that whole thing about them having soulmates is true?"

"Seriously? Don't you have to have a heart and a soul to have a soulmate?" I muttered sarcastically. Lisa just smirked.

"Isn't that a little cruel?" Lisa raised an eyebrow.

"Not even a little!" I shrugged. "Did you find anything else interesting?"

"Not really. But I didn't have much time to read. You got anything planned for the day?"
