"Are you peeking?" Louis asked for the third time that morning. I could feel the warmth of his body as he moved in closer to me to check my blind-fold. I rolled my eyes, knowing he couldn't see me. "Yes, Lou." I answered. "'Cause I can really see past the blackness of your scarf."

"Don't be sarcastic, Harry." he muttered, squeezing my hand as he continued to lead me through the snow. We had been outside since eight o'clock that morning and it was soon to be nine. Louis knew I was never the patient one in this relationship, yet he insisted on making me wait for things, always telling me 'the anticipation is almost as good as the present, itself!'

Bullshit.

I had anxiety. I hated waiting. I hated...not knowing. And I especially hated my birthday.

Today was just that one time of year Louis claimed he got to do whatever he wanted with me. Every year it would be something different. He would blind-fold me, take me somewhere, and make me wait. And wait.

And wait.

I never had a clue what he was planning, and it amused him. He just loved to wind me up.

"Are we there yet?" I asked  as a shiver rolled its way down my body. "It's cold, Lou. I'm tired. I'm hungry. Why are we outside? And where were you last night?"

The sound of his musical laughter filled my ears, causing the edges of my lips to turn up slightly. I always found myself smiling whenever Louis was happy. I couldn't help it.

"You're such an old woman, Haz. I was out -nothing to be too concerned about." he chuckled, pulling me closer to his side as we continued through the snow. "Don't worry, we'll be there soon. I promise."

I groaned again, wanting 'soon' to be 'now'.

"Why can't you just buy me a puppy like a normal boyfriend?" I whined, pouting my lips as I stared into the darkness of his scarf, missing the amusement hidden in his light, blue eyes.

"Normal?" he spat, repeating the words as though it held a year's worth of dog shit. "Is that what you want, Harry? A normal boyfriend?"

I shrugged, feeling a pair of soft lips peck my own. "That's just too bad, isn't it?" he teased, stopping us suddenly. "We're here. Hurry up! Take off the scarf!"

I chuckled to myself as I removed the scarf from my face and opened my eyes, adjusting to the sunlight that seemed too harsh on my pupils, and the cold that seemed to bite my eyelids. Soon, all I could see was a beach and a table.

"Lou..."

I looked around the area, never remembering seeing anything so beautiful. The sand was covered in a blanket of white, untouched snow; and a small, round table stood just a few feet away from the shore. Suddenly, it felt like all the cold I was feeling before, vanished. I felt so warm inside.
