Mitch smiled towards the quote and took the right side of the arena, and K.C. took the left. Both held their weapons tightly in their hand, getting ready for the battle. When they were both at their sides the path leading back to the stairs vanished. Mitch didn't care ,he didn't want K.C. to run. They looked at each other from a distance, the weapons reflecting their red eyes. Then they could hear a distant beeping sound, which was a count down. After ten seconds a loud boom shook the room and they were at it.
Mitch charged at K.C. ,jumping over the chest and kept running to K.C. ,his sword in his hand. K.C. ran at Mitch as well holding his axe close to his chest. Then Mitch swung at K.C. with all his might, which K.C. deflected with his axe. Metal clashing metal echoed through the arena as the two fought. The two were evenly matched but K.C. had the upper hand. He was stronger and swifter than Mitch, but they both had similar minds.
They kept attacking, each strike harder than the last. Soon Mitch started to tire but he forced himself on. K.C. noticed Mitch's sluggish movements and took advantage of that. After deflecting another of Mitch's blows, the moment when Mitch readied another swing K.C. sliced at Mitch's torso. Mitch fell back and yelled at the sudden pain on his chest. He looked down on his chest to see a slice of the side of him, which was now bleeding. Mitch seethed and looked back at K.C. to see him laughing. Hatred coursed through his veins and invigorated him and he charged back at K.C. once again. That caught him off guard as Mitch sliced at him, cutting his thigh. K.C. flinched but was infuriated and attacked back at Mitch ,but he dodged it just in time. K.C. was no longer laughing he was now deadly killer.
They were back at it again, each one attacking when they had the chance. Their wounds didn't hold them back from their brutality. As their anger grew so did their strength. Mitch had adrenaline and it wasn't running out soon. Soon Mitch was able to push back K.C. to the edge of the platform. Mitch could push him back further so he can fall back into the lava pit below. K.C. knew Mitch's plan and wasn't going to allow it. Just when Mitch found an opening, K.C. switched positions with Mitch. Now Mitch was on the edge with K.C. Trying to push him over.
Mitch was in a tight spot ,he couldn't find a possible way to get out. Sweat rolled down his face ,dripping off his chin, as K.C. continued to push him over. Their two weapons clashed each other , each strike K.C. brought down only brought Mitch closer to the edge. Soon Mitch hardly could keep standing since only his toes touched the platform. K.C. kept him on the ropes and he was going to have fun with it. Then Mitch's weapon was taken out of his hands by K.C. and fell down to the lava pit below. Mitch was now defenseless and he was sure he was going to die. Mitch started to lose his footing and he could feel gravity tugging him down.
Just when Mitch slipped ,K.C. caught him by the collar of his shirt. Mitch had his eyes closed tight but opened them to see his body dangling in K.C.'s grasp. Mitch's thoughts were filled with confusion of why K.C. just saved him. Just when Mitch was going to reach for the platform, a smile creeped onto K.C.'s face.
"Well this has been a fun game." Mitch's eyes were filled with terror as he felt K.C.'s grip slacken then let him go.
Mitch could feel the heat of the lava as he plummeted closer to it with each passing second. Mitch didn't want to look down to the lava so he looked up, up onto K.C. laughing. Mitch knew he lost the fight, knew he let down his friends, and he knew he screwed all their lives. Mitch wanted to accept his death and so as he got closer to the bottom he closed his eyes and fell into the lava. He held back his screams of pain and agony as he felt the lava burning him to a crisp. He wanted to stay strong to his friends to the very end and so he did. Soon Mitch could no longer feel his limbs as he quickly died in the lava. He was losing consciousness and he knew it was the end. At his final moments, Mitch looked back up at K.C., who was still laughing, and died.
K.C. just watched him die alone in the lava pit. He was laughing uncontrollably at this point and he couldn't help it. He loved playing the hunger games, especially with the Pack. With each easy victory he got the more gratified he became. After laughing ,K.C. left the arena, the path reappeared when Mitch died. He went back to his dark room and went to the door on the left. Behind the door were six glass balls, each one containing something in it. K.C. walked over to the first of the six balls and picked it up. Inside the ball was Mitch's soul writhing in pain. K.C. looked at it playfully and placed it back down next to the other pack's souls.
"Well that was an eventful game. Shall we play again?" He said looking at the balls.
The souls continued to writhe in pain as K.C. picked them all up in his arms. He brought them out of the room and back into the dining room. He grinned at his next game, each one easier than the last. He then settled them fown on the table, after a few seconds the souls disappeared from the glass balls. K.C. nodded his head in approval and went back down below, leaving with the glass balls in hand.

"Welcome back to another Hunger Games."
