~Going Back~ Chapter 20

James' POV>

"She's pregnant Hailey, she's pregnant." I repeated , but Haliey didn't respond which made my heart race a little, because I wasn't sure what was going on beyond her room door. "Hailey can you please open the door!" I requested once again. Giving up hope that she'd actually open the door I slowly turned on my heels, and was about to go back to my room when I heard her door swung open. I immediately turned around and tried to embrace her but she just pushed me away. I felt my heart sink a little. "Hailey please don't do this, I'm so sorry, I didn-...." "James stop!" Hailey said, cutting me off. "look, I just want to get some rest right now, and I think you should too, so goodnight." Hailey said before turning her back to me and heading straight to her room. "But Hailey wait!" I followed behind her but she slammed the door, shutting me out. "Hailey....I love you." I said with tears in my eyes. I really do love her, and I won't let this come between us, I just won't.

<Hailey's POV>

Great just when I think everything was finally going to be perfect, the universe just throws this in and say "ha think again Hailey Evans" Sigh I just can't believe this Katherina is going to have James' baby. This might change everything. As I thought about it, the tears began to flow again, I don't want to lose him, I really don't want to, I kept repeating until I fell asleep.

I fluttered my eyes open just to be greeted with sunrays beaming through the creases of my blinder. I got out of my bed sluggishly, to get a better view of outside. The weather was perfect warm and inviting, but I felt like the opposite, cold, angry, sad and confused. I went to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth, after I was finished I hesistated for a bit about going downstairs because I'm guessing James would be there, but I was hungry and not even James could stop me from doing what I love the most; eating.

I took a deep breath and opened my door, then nervously made my way downstairs. I bit my lip has I turned the corner but it took me by surprise that it was only my Mom at the table. "Good Morning Mom." I said being a bit relieved that James wasn't here at the table. "Finally one of you came down to join me, good morning honey." My Mom replied in her usual pleasant tone. "Oh James hasn't come down yet, that's..." But my Mom beat me to it. "A bit strange isn't it, considering that he's always down before you, did you guys stay up late last night?" She asked "Umm yeah we kinda did..." I said trying to convey my saddness. "Honey is something wrong?" My mom asked looking at me concerned. "No Mom everything is fine." I replied trying to convince her and myself. "Now time to make some pancakes, I'm starving." I stated quickly trying to change the subject. "Alright, well I'm going to get ready for work, I've got an early shift today." Mom said before disappearing around the corner.

I had just finished eating what was my sixth pancake when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, as the footsteps drew nearer my heart raced faster, but again it was just my Mom. "James isn't here." I looked at my Mom confused. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Yes, I was passing by his room when I realized the door was slightly cracked open, so I knocked about two times and announced that it was me, but there was no response so I opened the door and he wasn't there, neither were his stuff, are you sure something didn't happen between you two Hailey?" I stood up with my mouth open, you could say I was in bit of a shock. I didn't expect him to leave just like that. "Hailey!" My Mom shouted, snapping me out of the shock. " We had a bit of an argument Mom, but I didn't expect him to leave, not like that." She took my hand. "Is it something you want to talk about?" Mom asked. "Not right now Mom I just need to find out something." I said before making my way upstairs.

I gripped my hair with frustration as I paced back and forth in my room, trying to figure out why he would just leave like that? where was he now? Is he okay? I took up my phone to give him a call when I noticed that he left a voice note.
"Hailey I'm terribly sorry that this had to happen, I-I had no idea she was pregnant is entire time, if I had known this was going to happen I would have prevented, but sadly what's done is done and despite the fact that Katherina and I aren't together anymore, I won't neglect my child. I know that you're really angry at me right now, probably won't even want to see me again, but I still love you Hailey Evans, I am deeply and completely in love with you, and I don't want to lose you because of something that happened before we met. Sigh I'm going back to England for a bit and I don't know what will happen after this but I hope we'll be able to work through this, if not then I'll be absolutely gutted."

"He's going back to England.." I quietly repeated to myself, has the tears once again streamed down my face. "Hailey..." My Mom called out. "Did you hear all that?" I questioned, before I turned around and ran into her embracing arms. "Yes honey, and I'm so sorry honey, I'm so sorry." My mom said has she hugged me tightly while gently rubbing my back. "Everything is going to be okay Hailey, okay because I'm here for you." My mom said while comforting me.

I know what I have to do....I have to go to England.
