~You're My Hero~ Chapter 17

Heyyy I know I haven't done an update in ages!! So I decided to do one today in honor of James' birthday!!!! Happy Birthday Jems!!

All night I kept tossing and turning restlessly in Cas' bed while she was sound asleep. I just couldn't get any sleep knowing James was in the hospital and it's all because of me.

"Morning Hailey, did you even shut your eyes at all?" Cas questioned.

"I don't think so, I just couldn't Cas not with James in the hospital." I said while looking through the window. Cas sighed, " Iunderstand Hailey, but you can't beat yourself up about it, and I'm sure James isn't mad at you or anything, now let's go freshen up and head down for breakfast before Tyler eats everything." I nodded and got up with Cas.

After we finished eating, I decided to head back to my house to chill for a bit before going to see James. "Sure you want to go back alone, I mean I could always follow you home and then go to the hospital with you." Cas suggested. "Yeah I guess, but Cas I don't want you to waste your time following me around." I said, causing Cas to slap me on my right shoulder. "Umm hello! last time I checked I was your best friend, which means I'm suppose to follow you around." Cas said before giggling, which made me laugh as well. "Ugh I'm just emotional right now Cas, but okay let's head back to my place so I can get out of these sweatpants."

Once I got home I headed straight for the shower. All I could think about was James and how he was feeling now, and if he regrets meeting me, sigh. I got out, grabbed my towel and went into my bedroom. Shortly after I heard an unfamiliar ringtone. I stood there for about two minutes puzzled before remembering I had taken James' phone from his house last night. I took it up and looked at the caller id, Katherina? Who's that?

"Hello?" I answered. "Ahh hii, is James around?" She questioned with a bit of an attitude. "No he's not, but do you want to leave a message or something? "Just tell him to give me a call when he can and also that I miss him." She said in a sassy tone. Man this chick sure does have a lot of attitude. "Sure, no problem." I said in the most polite way I could then she hung up. Ugh, who even is she, and she misses James?! Why does she miss him?! Arrgh now was not the time, so I quickly cleared my head of those unwanted thoughts and got ready for the hospital.

After I was finished I went downstairs to find Cas eating an nutella sandwich, typical Cas. " Hey no fair, where's my nutella sandwich? Cas rolled her eyes. "Right here loser." I smiled and skipped over to Cas. "Thank you."

"Before we get to the hospital I want to stop and get something for James." I told Cas who was still stuffing her face. "Okay when Riley gets here you can tell him, so he'll know where to stop." Shortly after we heard his car pull up outside.

We stopped by the mall to buy some stuff for James, Cas and Riley got him a funny get well card, while I got him a salad bowl, because I know how he loves eating healthy and the hospital food is disgusting, I also got him a "You're My Hero" card because really he is. I wanted to get more stuff for him but I had no idea what else to get him. This will do for now I thought.

Once we pulled up at the hospital my heart began to race, because I just don't know what James' reaction will be. I swallowed the lump in my throat as we made our way to his room. "Heyyy James" Cas said slowly while removing the balloons to reveal our faces to James. His familiar charming smile begun to spread across his face. "Hey guys,I'm so happy to see you all." He said with a chirpy tone. "We're happy to see you too man." Riley spoke up. "Yeah James we got you this card and balloons!!!" Cas added. James chuckled. "Thanks guys, I appreciate it, I really do." James said as he stretched out his hand to receive the card from Cas. "Ouch!" James exclaimed. "Careful! James." I said leaping towards his bed. "Done stretch so much, okay." I said taking the card from Cas and handing it to him. "We'll just step outside for now to give you guys some privacy." Cas said while holding unto Riley's hand. "Haha okay, thanks for coming guys" "Yeah man, see you in a bit." Riley replied. "Oh yeah by the way James, that one is being paranoid and thinks that you probably hate her now." Cas added before running out of the room,dragging Riley behind.

James turned to look at me in shock.

"Seriously Hailey, why would I hate you? That isn't even possible." James said causing my cheeks to turn reddish. "Sigh but this is all my fault James, if I hadn't known Jake then-.."

"Hailey just stop talking, it's okay, I'm just happy you're not the one in here, besides I can handle a couple fractured bones." He said before chuckling. I sat by his side and held his hand. "James I know this is going to sound super corny, but you're my hero, you've saved me in so many different ways, and I don't think I'll ever be abl-..." James stopped me mid sentence with a kiss. I slowly pulled away. "You didn't let me finish." "That's because I already knew what you were going to say, and Hailey I have you in my life so we're even." He said with a smirk.

"I brought you a salad bowl and some water, also got you this card." I stated while placing the stuff beside James. "Yesss! Thank you soo much Hailey, you don't know how much I love you right now, because I absolutely hate the food they give me here." James said before digging into the bowl. "The card is pretty sweet, I love it." He said before stuffing his face, causing me to giggle a little. "I'm glad you like it James."
