i read the label to make sure that it actually was prescribed to her and that it wasn't some unsafe, random bottle of pills. i looked over to her, trying to figure out why she needed pills and it made me worry.

what if she's sick? like very sick. what if she has her death date already? what the hell have i missed?

'a lot luke, obviously'  i said to myself in my head.

i groaned in frustration. i heard anna stirring in her sleep and instantly cleaned everything up and put all the items back in her purse, but i left the bottle of pills out. i don't know why i did, but i just wanted to know.

i don't deserve to know, we literally just started talking again. i'm nothing but an asshole to her and here she is, attempting to make me dinner. its kind of a fucked situation. i don't even know why i expected her to even tell me. i let her go for a year or so and think that she might want to open up to me about something as personal as her medical life? but then again, i didn't really care and wanted to know really bad. i didn't want to come off as some nosy ass to her, and in all honesty, anna's opinion about me matters a lot.

i shook all the thoughts out and just took my mind off of things and killed time while playing on my laptop.

anna woke up in a an hour or so. thank god i turned off the stove when i went to use the bathroom.

she looked really adorable when she stirred around and stretched a little. i awed at her right there on my bed. oh jesus, luke. what the hell are you doing? she finally sat up and looked so confused at her surroundings. i laughed a little bit to myself at the sight of her ruffled hair and half-open eye lids.

i cleared my throat and she instantly turned to her left and saw me. she smiled hazily.

"hi luke," she spoke softly.

i tensed up but took a deep breath, "hey anna."

she giggled and i frowned in confusion. nothing happened that was funny.

"how long have i been asleep?" anna asked while standing up to stretch more.

i sighed, "for about an hour. why did you pass out so quickly? i literally turned around for a couple of seconds to fill up a pot of water and then i turn back around and you were gone."

she sat on the bed, while putting her elbows on her knees and rested her head in her hands.

"i handed him the big pot and watched as he turned around to fill it up with water. i looked over at the clock built right above the stove and saw that it was almost four o' clock. i silently cursed as i ran to grab my purse and up the stairs into luke's room. i rummaged through my bag to find my pills and took two. knowing that these sometimes knock me out, i laid on luke's bed.

i took a look around and noticed how it still was the same way it always had been. same navy blue bed set, same white desk. same band posters, maybe a few new ones. suddenly, my eye lids got super heavy and i drifted off to sleep."

that was how i ended up onto his bed. now i'm sitting here in a dreadful silence, trying to think of a way to explain this whole thing. i heard a bottle of pills rattle and looked over at luke. he shook it while staring at me and my eyes widened and i knew there was no hiding this from him. i knew this was bound to happen but i didn't think it would happen so fast.

damn it damn it damn it

i tuned away from his intimidating blue eyes, and ran down the stairs. i heard him grunt and his footsteps come after me. i just kept going straight for his fridge because i know he has beers and all kinds of alcohol in his fridge. i grabbed the first beer i saw and just started drinking.
