Chapter 2

Evie's POV
I raced to my dorm and found Mal practicing some spells on a piece of paper. She looked up at me when I walked in.

"Hey Evie. What's up?" She asked, going back to her paper.

"The best news ever! I have a boyfriend!" I squealed.

"Who?"

"Doug!"

"I thought Chad asked you out?"

"Chad never asked me out"

"Okay... Just don't tell Jay"

"Okay..?"

Doug's POV
I was so excited that Evie said yes! I went up to my friend Chad to tell him.

"Hey Chad guess what?"

"What?"

"I have a girlfriend!" I clapped my hands.

"Really? Me too!"

"Mine's Evie"

"What?! My girlfriend is Evie!" Chad yelled.

"That's not true! I asked her a few minutes ago and she said yes!"

"I asked her yesterday and she said yes!"

We both narrowed our eyes. "We need to go talk to Evie"

We went to her dorm but Mal answered.

"We need to speak to Evie" I said.

"Evie's not here"

"When will she be here?"

"I don't know. What do you need though?" She asked.

"Chad claims Evie's his girlfriend, but she said yes to me"

"She said yes to me first!" Chad argued.

"Oh... Oops..." Mal bit her lip.

"What?" Chad and I said at the same time.

"I, I don't know, accidentally, I don't know, erased her memory of Chad asking her out"

"You did what?!" Chad shrieked.

I laughed. "Ha!"

"Wait. Then she has to choose between us" Chad suggested.

"Choose between you for what?" Evie asked from behind us.

"Evie!" We both shouted.

"What's going on?" She questioned.

"Who is your boyfriend?" I pointed to Chad and then me.

"Um, Doug. Why?"

"No! You said yes to me!" Chad practically screamed.

"I don't remember that"

"Oh, right, Mal erased your memory. Well, I asked you out and you said yes." Chad explained.

"How could you, Evie?" I asked.

"I only said it because I felt bad for you, Chad!" She recovered her memory.

"Well, then forget it, Evie!" Chad stormed out of the room.

"Memory or no memory, I can't be with a girl who said yes to someone else. I'm sorry. Goodbye Evie" I looked at Evie and then left.

Evie's POV
I started crying and threw myself on the bed. I heard the door close and then open with Jay rushing to me.

"Evie, what happened?" He asked.

I explained everything that happened and before I knew it, I was hugging him tightly.

"Evie, I'm really sorry. I would never hurt your feelings. Do you want to go walk with me?"

I nodded and we went outside. With Jay, I felt safe and comfortable.

"I like this" I said.

He smiled. "Me too. Do you maybe want to go out sometime?"

"Like, on a date?"

"Yea. I mean, only if you-"

"I would love to" I smiled at him and we kept walking.

I was very happy with Jay. And I'm pretty sure we has happy with me too.
