Mentions of, uh, unwanted affection. Nothing graphic, just people (in the story) getting triggered by stuff. And by people, I mean Dipper.

In this AU, Mabel and Dipper can do magic, both consciously and unconsciously. They also both work for NCIS, which is pretty much given for the title.

Oh! For those of you wondering about Pulling on Gravity, I only update that fic when I have a large amount of time to write. I have to find the episode transcript and then alter it, so it usually takes hours.

Dipper was watching his sister spin around in her chair. Mabel had her head tilted back and her eyes closed, with her arms clamped tightly on her sides to keep the momentum going.

There was a snapping sound, and something stung his cheek. He jerked his hand up in surprise, and let out a small hiss of pain and confusion.

Turing to look at the culprit, Dipper decided that he probably should have known.

Tony DiNozzo lifted another rubber band, pulling one side back until it was ready to launch. This time, however, he aimed it at Mabel.

Before he could release it, Dipper scooped up the one that had hit his cheek and pointed it at Tony. He tried to direct it at his nose, but he accidentally lifted his finger too high.

Tony yelped in pain as the rubber band hit him in the eye. Dipper ducked down before he could be spotted and started to work on some paperwork that he had been putting off forever.

He could faintly hear Ziva laughing quietly from her desk. Mabel joined in too, once she figured out what had happened. Actually, everyone was laughing. Except for Tony.

"Dipper!" He shouted. "How could you?"

Tony was one of the few that chose to only use Dipper's nickname, no matter how serious he was being.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Dipper said, unable to contain his smile.

"You hit me in the eye!" Tony said indignantly.

"If it's any consolation prize, I was aiming for your nose," Dipper shrugged.

Mabel can't contain herself after that, and she falls to the ground. That sets Tony off, and Dipper has to fight to keep the laughter inside as he helps his sister up to her feet.

For a moment, he can forget everything and just be with his friends. Because even when you're trying to solve a murder, there is still time to laugh.

That is, until Tony ruins it.

"Jeez, pine tree. Is Mabel always this clumsy? This is, like, the third time I've seen her fall today!"

Dipper's muscles automatically seize, and his head snaps around.

"What?" He asks weakly, and it comes out strangled.

In his head, he knows that Bill would never call Mabel by her name, only Shooting Star. That doesn't stop the fear that slides through his veins like ice.
