Chapter 2-

When Max finally woke up it seemed like hours since I had woke. When I got up, I made breakfast and a cup of tea; one was boiling on the stove for Max.

“Good morning.” Yawned Max in his deep sleepy voice.

“Good morning,” I responded, “how did you sleep? Do you want some tea?”

“That would be wonderful. Thanks hun. I slept well. You?” Max said as I prepared his hot tea.

“Good…good. Do you have any ID propene? I have the worst head ache.” I questioned as I rubbed my forehead.

“In the bathroom to the left of the sink.” Max sipped his tea and added a bit of sugar.

I swallowed down the two ID propone as I sat on the couch. “I better get going soon.” I told Max

“Yeah. It’s almost…” he looked at the clock. “9:30.”

After we finished our burritos, filled with bacon and eggs, I broke the silence. “Do you remember anything from last night? I can’t remember a thing after you hung up the phone call to my mom. Then you jumped onto the couch.” I explained to him looking for an answer.

“Ermm… I know that we had a few drinks…and that’s all I remember. Maybe one too many…” Max chuckled revealing his dimple under his eye on the right side of his face.

As I got ready to leave his house…our house, Max started to clean up the kitchen from the mess we had made earlier. I would be living with him in the cabin, except of the fact that my mom didn’t trust us living together, so I had to live at home with her. Otherwise I would have moved in together last summer, when the cabin was done.

As I was getting my shoes on I was thinking of all of the possible things that could have happened last night. We could have just danced around drunk, and then maybe it was too late for Max to go out and put up the tent, so he just slept in the bed with me. But he had his own room…and why where my clothes on the floor? I got tired of thinking of what we could have done. I had to stop before I went crazy and started thinking of something serious!!

Max drove me home. I started thinking again, but I stopped myself once more. When I got home my mom gave me a huge hug squeezing me so tight it seemed like she hadn’t seen me in weeks.

“Mom! It was only one night calm down!” I scolded and she backed off before Max got uncomfortable.

“Did he treat you good? Did he do what I said?” My mom asked so quickly nobody could quite understand her.

“MOM!” I finally broke from her grasp. “We were fine we are 18 we can take care of ourselves!” I said with a lot of attitude. “I could be living alone.” I whispered so quietly, my mom could barely hear me. She looked at me like I was crazy and evil. I don’t think she had ever given me that look before.

“You don’t talk to me like that young lady…” I blocked her voice out of my head.

“Thank you for the great time. It was fun.” I winked and giggled to Max.

“You’re welcome. So I guess that I won’t see you for a while…” Max looked at the ground and frowned.

“Mom can you give us a minute?”

“Fine! But we are going to have a serious talk when you are done!”

I almost forgot about the trip. I was going to London I a few days. “I guess. Well we can still always Skype and call and...” my eyes filled up with tears and my voice got shaky. He pulled me into his arms and I rested my head on his broad chest. As tears fell down my face and onto his dark black t-shirt, he stayed strong and shushed me.

“Shhhhhhh. It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s only for two weeks. We will be fine babe.” He pulled me away from his chest and held my shoulders with his huge hands looking straight into my eyes. “Listen I want you to look up a song. Okay?” He asked of me, “listen to it everyday, morning and night. Look it up when you get there, okay?”

“Okay” I agreed “I will.”
