Katherine quietly walked to her awaiting car with a heavy heart. She still couldn't believe that she had fallen for a player like Ashton Wallworks.

She wiped the single tear that managed to escape from her eyes. She was not going to cry for someone like him.

She still remembered how she had argued with her father about him not being a player. Now she regretted it. How could she trust a stranger over her own father?

"Is everything alright miss?" Hunter enquired as he opened the door for her. Katherine just nodded and entered the car.

After what seemed like forever they finally pulled into her driveway. And She quickly got out of the car and walked into the house.

Ali looked up from her magazine as she watched her daughter enter the house almost three hours early.

"Is everything alright?"

"Yes mom, everything's fine." Katherine replied as she flopped on the couch opposite to her mother.

"What's wrong honey? And don't you dare to lie to me."

"Dad was right." she replied making Ali frown.

"What are you talking about?"

Katherine sighed and explained what had happened in the office. She explained how stupid she had been to believe that a man like Ashton Wallworks was different from others.

"It's ok honey, we learn from our mistakes." Ali replied with a smile.

"I guess you are right." Katherine forced a smile.

"So are you excited for tomorrow?" Ali asked trying to sound cheerful. Katherine gave her a confused look.

"What about tomorrow?"

"Your date with Nathan." Katherine groaned inwardly. God, how could that slip out of her mind ?

"Sorry, I had completely forgotten about that." she replied making Ali smile.

"It's okay sweetie, now go to your room and  freshen up." Katherine nodded and got up from her seat and headed back to her room.

THE NEXT DAY

"So where are we going?" Katherine asked Nathan for the millionth time. They have been driving for almost an hour and she had no clue where he was taking her.

"Have patience love." Nathan replied with a chuckle. As he continued to concentrate on the road.

After what seemed like eternity they finally stopped by a small coffee shop by the lake. Katherine's face lit up the moment she got out of the car.

"This is beautiful." she commented with an awe. And turned to face Nathan who was grinning at her.

"You like it?" he asked with a smile.

"Like it? I love it."

Nathan led her into the small coffee shop. It wasn't fancy, but it had a homely feeling. And the place was filled with the amazing aroma of coffee.

"Nathan, what a lovely surprise."a middle aged woman walked up to them as they took a seat by the enormous French window which overlooked the lake.

"Hey Saraha, good to see you again." Nathan replied as he gave her a warm smile.

"Oh hello Adriana, it's good to see you too." Saraha hugged a very confused looking Katherine.

"I'm glad you finally decided to give him a chance. You both look so good together."

"Saraha, you have mistaken. She's Katherine, Katherine Mickelson." Nathan clarified.

Saraha's eyes went wide at what he had just heard. But she didn't say anything. Instead she gave her a small smile.

"I'm sorry honey, you look so much like her." Katherine returned her smile.

After chatting for a while Saraha took their orders and left. Leaving them in a awkward silence. Nathan cleared his throat trying to ease the awkwardness.

"So, how do you know Adriana?" Katherine asked curiously.

"She used to be a friend." he replied without looking at her.

"She's Ashton's wife isn't she?"

"Katherine can we drop this here? we could discuss this some other time?" Katherine nodded.

"So how did you find this place?" she asked changing the subject.

"We found this place a few years back during a road trip." he replied.

"We?"

"Me and a few friends."

But before she could ask any more questions Saraha returned with their orders.

"I hope you both have a good time." she smiled down at them.

"Thank you Saraha." Nathan grinned at her. She politely excused herself and left to attend other customers.

After a few minutes the awkwardness had eased and the atmosphere had started getting comfortable again. They continued to chat about random things when they heard someone clear their throat.

They immediately looked up at the newcomer and frowned.

"What are you doing here Wallworks?" Nathan yelled. Ashton just ignored him.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked as he faced Katherine.

"We are on a date Ashton. So yes we would mind if you join us." Katherine snapped at him.

But it seemed like he didn't hear what she said. He just pulled out a chair from a near by table and joined their table.

"So now tell me where were we?"

Katherine groaned, why can't he just let her be alone?
