"What are you doing here? You were supposed to be with Nathan right?" Ali snapped at her daughter the moment she walked in.

"Well, hello to you too mom." Katherine replied sarcastically making her roll her eyes.

"Katherine,what am I hearing? How could you just abandon Nathan ?"

"It wasn't my fault mom. Ashton Wallworks showed up."

"That's not an excuse to ditch someone on your date" Katherine rolled her eyes at her mom's response.

"Mom please."

"What's going on here?" Nicklaus asked as he entered the room with a stern expression on his face.

"How was your meeting Nick?" Ali smiled at her husband as she walked up to him and helped him out of his coat.

"Hi Dad." Katherine started awkwardly.

"So finally you decided to talk to me? " he raised an eyebrow at his daughter.

"I...I...." she stuttered and bit her bottom lip. God! How could she forget ? She was still mad at him for snapping at her that night .

"Come on! princess, do you know how much I missed speaking to you?" Nicklaus stated as he took his daughter in his arms.

"I missed you too Daddy." Katherine whispered as she hugged him back.

Ali cleared her throat awkwardly making them pull away immediately.

"So ,what were you ladies arguing about?"

"Dad...it was just.."

"She abandoned Nathan on their date." Ali stated folding her hands before her chest.

"Is it Katherine?" He raised an eyebrow at his daughter.

"Dad..I...I.."

"Katherine I know you don't like him. But walking out of your date is rude." Katherine frowned.

"But Dad-" but he cut her off in the middle.

"Look Katherine I want you to call him and apologise." he gave her a serious look.

"Fine. I will call him." She replied in a bored tone.

"Good. Now go to your room and change. And meet me in my study in fifteen minutes." She nodded and walked to her room.

"ASHTON WALLWORKS! What the hell is wrong with you?" Jason yelled as he barged into the office. Ashton ignored him as he continued to work on his laptop.

"What do you want Jason?" he snapped in an annoyed tone.

"What do I want? I want to know why have you fired twenty people on a weekend?"

"Because they didn't want to come to work."

"It's a weekend for Christ's sake Ashton."

"I don't care if it's a weekend. I want my employees to work whenever I want. That's what I pay them for."

"What's wrong Ashton? And don't dare to ignore me." Jason warned as he made himself comfortable on the chair opposite to Ashton.

Ashton sighed in frustration and asked one question that has been haunting him for hours.

"Do you think that Adriana would have been happy if she was with Nathan?"

Jason studied his best friend trying to figure out what made him think of such a thing? He remained silent for a while and then replied.

"No Ashton I don't. Look , I don't know what made you think that Nathan was a better choice for Adriana. But I surely know that it was you she chose."

"Why did she choose me when she knew that a guy like me was not capable of commitment ?"

Ashton shut his laptop close and walked up to his bar and poured himself a glass of Whiskey.

"Because she loves you Ashton. She always did and always will."

"I don't deserve her Jason. She deserved someone better."

"Ashton I think you need to loosen up a little. It's been a while since we have hit the club."

"I guess you're right."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Jason replied cheerfully as he dragged Ashton out of his office.

"So what did you want to discuss with me Dad?" Katherine asked curiously as she watched her dad work on his laptop.

"I wanted to make it up for snapping at you." he replied with an apologetic smile.

"Come on Dad it's alright." she smiled at him. He pulled out a black box from one of the drawers and handed it to her.

"What's this Dad?"

"Why don't you check it out yourself?" She quickly opened the box and gasped.

"I presume you like it." He chuckled at the sight of his daughter admiring the beautiful pair of emerald earings.

"Like it? I love it." Katherine chirped happily.

"They are so pretty Dad. Thank you...Thank you so much." she chirped as she gave him a tight hug making him chuckle.

"Thank God you like it. Now go to your room and get some rest.I have a lot of work to finish."

"See you later Dad." With that she walked out of his office.

"What the hell are you guys doing here?" Katherine yelled the moment she entered her room.

"Well Hello to you too Kat." Tanya replied making the other girls giggle.

"Don't be rude Tani." Jenny scolded as she walked up to Katherine.

"What are you girls doing here?" Katherine enquired as she flopped on the bed.

"Well, we were planning to hit the club. And we were wondering if you would join us?"

"No ways." she snapped at her friends making them scoff at her.

"Stop acting like a baby Katherine." Pearl snapped at her friend.

"The last time I went out with you guys. I was half an hour late for my meeting."

"Katherine Mickelson, stop whining like a baby and go get dressed. We are leaving in an hour." Tanya snapped once again. Making Katherine glare at her.

"No I'm not going anywhere." She replied stubbornly.

" Katherine please," Jenny started Pouting at her making it impossible for her to refuse.

"Okay fine. But we are not staying for long." She said as she walked into her walk-in closet.
