Ashton rushed into the hospital and ran straight to the reception. " Where is she? " he demanded. As he slammed his fist on the table, scaring the poor women sitting behind the desk.

" How may I help you ? " She stuttered.

" Where is she? " He demanded.

" Who are you taking about? " the woman asked in confusion.

" My Adri- sorry Katherine.."

" Who Katherine Mikaelson? She's in the emergency ward and...."Ashton didn't wait for her to she complete her sentence as he rushed towards the emergency ward.

" What the hell are you doing here? " Nicklaus growled as soon as he spotted Ashton rushing towards them.

" How is she? Is she alright? " He asked breathlessly .

" Ashton, you shouldn't have come here. I think it would be better if you leave... " Alison stated softly as she watched her husband shake in anger.

" What the hell is wrong with you Alison? You are siding this son of a bitch , who has done nothing but ruin your and your daughter's life. And you are asking me to leave? " He demanded angrily.

" He's her father Ashton. "

" Then I'm her husband. I have more right to be her than him." he spat pointing at Nicklaus.

" Enough is enough Ashton. I suggest you better leave or else I.... " Nathan interrupted as he stepped forward.

" Else what? " He challenged.

" Ashton you do not have any right to be here. " Nathan growled.

" Then what right do you have to be here? "

" I'm her fiance and I have every right to be here. "

Ashton rolled his eyes. " She cannot be your fiance Nathan. As you see, she's already married to me. "Nathan glared at him and walked away.

" I'm warning you Ashton Wallworks. Get out or else... "

" Else what Nicklaus... Would you try to kill me. The way you tried with Adriana two years back? "

" What are you talking about? " Alison asked in confusion.

" Don't listen to him Alison. He's lyong. " Nicklaus interrupted.

" What happened Nicklaus ? Scared that your truth would come out ? "

" What is he talking about Nick? " Alison asked as tears started rolling down her cheeks.

" What happened to Adriana two years back was not an accident Alison. It was an attempted murder. " Ashton stated.

" I'm warning you Ashton. " Nicklaus growled as he took predatory steps towards him.

" And you know who was behind it ? " Ashton continued completely ignoring Him.

" This man right here is the one behind all this mess Alison. " And the moment he completed his sentence. A fist collided with his jaw.

" Ashton. " Alison yelled in horror as she watched her husband throw another punch.

" Nicklaus you just proved me right. " Ashton snapped as got up on his feet spitting blood.

Alison stood there with tears rolling down her cheeks. She could not believe that Nicklaus would do it to his own daughter.

" Why Nick? Why did you do it? What has she ever done to you? " Alison yelled as she glared at him with tears in her eyes.

" Alison listen to me. I didn't mean to hurt her.."

" Yes you didn't mean to hurt her. You meant to kill her. " Ashton snapped at him.

" It was you I wanted to kill and not her. " Nicklaus growled.

" I wanted this man out of my daughter's life. But things didn't happen as planned and instead of him. My Katherine got hurt. I thought I almost lost her that night. But my baby was a fighter. She made it out. When she didn't remember her past, I thought I had got a fresh slate and I could have a family I always wished to have."

" Family Nicklaus? Do you really know what family means? " Alison spat venom laced in her words.

" I know I have not been the best person. But I love my daughter. And all I wanted was to see her happy , which she never was with him. " he spat as he glared at Ashton.

" You know what Nicklaus? You are a psychopath and you deserve to be put behind the bars. A man like you is dangerous for the society. "

Ashton growled as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. But Alison snatched the phone out of his hands.

" What are doing Alison? " He growled in anger.

" I know he deserves to be put behind the bars. But he is her father Ashton. And she would never appreciate that."

" But Alison.... " But he was cut off in the middle.

" As much as I want him to be punished I can't do it Ashton. I love this man way too much. And he's my Adriana's father. " she walked up to Nicklaus who looked taken aback by her words.

" I know Nick that you never loved me. But it still didn't stop me from loving you. I never gave into any other man because I loved you and I could never give your place to any other man. The only reason I never told Adriana about you was because I never wanted her to hate you and I didn't want to lie to her. I know you deserve to be put behind the bars. But I won't....I love you way too much and I can't see you suffer. So I'm letting you go. Don't come back into our lives Nicklaus. "

Nicklaus stood there paralysed. He couldn't believe all his life he hated this woman. He  had hurt her mentally and physically. But still she loved him. He could see the hurt in her eyes.

What had he done? All his life he longed for a family and all he had to do for it is ask. And now he's all alone. He deserved it, a man like him doesn't deserve to be loved.

" Alison I..." but he was cut off in the middle.

" Go away Nicklaus....before I change my mind. " Alison yelled as she sobbed into Ashton's chest.

Nicklaus sighed and walked away without another word. He knew he had done a big mistake and he regretted it. He had to make things right.

" How is she Doctor? " Alison asked as she walked out of the OT.

" She's out of danger and we have shifted her into the ICU but... "

" But what? " Ashton demanded.

" But we can't say when is she going to wake up. " she stated.

" How long would it take Doctor? " Alison asked.

" It may take weeks or maybe months." she replied uncertainly.

" Can we see her? " Ashton asked hopefully.

" Yes you may but only one family member can stay by her side. " she replied and excused herself.

" Alison can I stay ? " Ashton asked hopefully.

" But Ashton I..."

" Alison I know I have screwed up big time. But I want to make it up to her. I want to stay by her side till she wakes up. I want to be the first person she sees when she wakes up. I don't care if it takes years for her to wake up. I will still stay by her side. "

" I think I will check on her for a moment and then you can have her all for yourself.. " She gave him a small smile and walked into the ICU.
