**Phil POV**
I finally arrived at Dan's house after getting lost multiple times whilst he attempted to guide me through the phone, which didn't really help at all. I pressed his doorbell once and he answered straight away, "Hey Phil." He smiled.
"Hi," I replied, stepping inside. "Your parents in?"
Dan nodded, "They're in the lounge. I won't make you meet them, don't worry." He laughed and led me upstairs to his room. I looked around his bedroom. It pretty plain with a couple of band posters, a few of which I recognised, scattered across the walls.
Dan sat down on his bed, "Sit." He patted the space next to him, and I walked over and sat down.
"What are you thinking for the project?" I spoke up.
"I don't know yet," Dan shrugged. "Maybe we could make a rocket?
"That's a good idea; I'm not very imaginative." I said.
"But you always daydream, don't you?" Dan raised an eyebrow. "I thought you'd have a vivid imagination."
"I meant like...I'm not good at ideas."
We didn't really start the project properly, and ended up talking about random facts about ourselves for most of the time. I'd learnt that Dan hates sport, likes some of the same bands as me, and his favourite lesson is English.
"About the project.." Dan reminded me after a while.
"Oh, yeah." I mumbled. "Shall we just not do it...?"
"We have to!" Dan whined.
"Okay, okay." I sighed. "Are we making a rocket, then?"
"I guess. I have some paper and stuff in my drawer." He stood up and walked over to his desk drawer, picking out various coloured paper, pens and tape.
"I don't know if these are the right materials or whatever," He shrugged, joining me on the bed again. He spread out the paper so we could both see what we had.
"Which colour?" Dan asked.
I thought for a moment, "Green?"
He smiled, "Okay." He picked up a green sheet and started folding it in different ways before giving up and letting it fall back onto the bed.
"I don't know how we're going to do this." He chuckled.
"Hmm...how about we get a box or something, then tape some paper to it?" I suggested.
"And you say you're not imaginative." Dan grinned, looking around the room for a spare shoebox. He returned quickly after he'd retrieved a box from his wardrobe, where he kept most random items by the look of it. He sat closer to me this time, practically on my lap, but I wasn't complaining.
"So do you want me to cover the box in green paper, or just add them as wings or something?" He asked, turning to face me.
I smiled, "You could do both."
Dan nodded and started taping some of the paper onto the box whilst I watched.
"You can do the wings, the harder part." He laughed, passing all of the equipment to me once the box was fully green.
"Thanks." I whispered sarcastically, but quickly folded the paper into triangular shapes and stuck them on. It turned out better than I thought it would.
"Finished." I said, showing the rocket to Dan.
"It's great," Dan grinned. "I love it." He wrapped his arms around my waist and pecked my cheek lightly.
I blushed, "It's just a paper rocket." He'd just kissed me on the cheek.
"I know, but thank you." He whispered, his arms still around my waist. I grinned and took my chance, pressing my lips softly against Dan's. He pulled away quickly, loosening his grip on my waist, "No." He muttered, shuffling away slightly. I blushed, I wasn't expecting him to kiss back, but it still hurt.
"Sorry." I mumbled.
"Forget about it. Sorry, I'm not gay." Dan stated.
**End of Phil POV**
**Dan POV**
I'd almost kissed Phil back, but I moved away before I had the chance to even think about it properly. I'm not gay. I'm not. I like girls, I always have done. But with Phil it felt different...it felt like I might actually like him. But it's impossible, like I said, I'm straight. It's probably just confusion, and I'll get over it eventually. I shouldn't have lead him on with the stupid kiss on the cheek and hugging, I don't even know why I did it. I couldn't think straight. I feel intoxicated around Phil, he's like some kind of drug.
