The school bell rang, signalling break time. I made my way over to my usual spot, alone on the bench near the field. I'd never been a popular kid, I'd always been the complete opposite. I didn't even try to talk to the other pupils as I knew what their reaction would be, they'd most likely laugh right in my face or tell me to go away. I sighed and looked over to Dan Howell and his group of friends a few metres ahead of me, they were in a gang of some sort that I didn't really know much about. They weren't usually up to much good, and that's as far as I can tell you. I'd had a crush on Dan for as long as I could remember, he was perfect. The way his gorgeous brown eyes shone in the sunlight. The way his hair fell flawlessly, and the way his dimple appeared as he smiled. I was snapped out of my daydream as I noticed one of the guys, PJ, had turn around. I quickly looked away to my right. He must have spotted me I thought as he started walking towards me, unexpectedly not accompanied by his posse.
"Hey," PJ spoke, a slight smirk on his face. I bit my lip, not saying a word and waited for him to explain why he'd come over, which was clearly not a friendly gesture.
"I saw you looking at our Dan," He began, a slight tease to his voice and I blushed. "Does Philly have a little gay crush?" He laughed.
I blushed a deeper shade of red, not daring to make eye contact with him. "Y-you're just being childish." I frowned slightly, I wasn't scared of PJ. I wasn't.
PJ shook his head, "You know, I could have hooked you up with him." He grinned.
I narrowed my eyes slightly, "Really?" I mumbled, my gullible side taking over.
He nodded, "I can try." He smirked and turned around, beckoning Dan over. I cringed.
"What's up?" Dan asked once he'd walked over, looking at PJ.
"Lester has a crush on you." PJ stated, laughing slightly. I didn't bother denying it, it was clear who Dan would believe. Plus, I was a bad liar.
Dan glared at me, "That's fucking disgusting." He spat, and PJ grinned, clearly loving the small amount of drama he'd just created. Typical.
"I-it's not like that.." I stuttered, taken aback by Dan's reaction. Not like I was expecting him to take it well, anyway.
Dan shrugged and turned away to join his group again.
"Wait." PJ grabbed his arm, "Phil wants to know if you'll go out with him." He sniggered.
Dan pulled away from PJ and scowled at me, making his answer clear as he walked away.
"I tried." PJ laughed, "Sorry." He jogged back over to his gang. I sighed and pulled my knees up to my chest, embarrassed.
