Mya's POV

A week had passed since Linc took on the club and his siblings. Leading the club was a lot of responsibility in itself, let alone with three kids and one of those kids being an angry, bitter teenager. Linc had difficulties with Darren. Linc begged Dani to come home, but she refused. We offered to go get her, but she wouldn't. Dani didn't even show up at her Mom's funeral.

All of us helped Linc as much as we could, but everyone had lives too. Sometimes, I couldn't help but wonder how he could juggle it all. Linc hadn't had much time for me. Lilly was starting to really miss him, but I understood he was busy.

Nothing much had happened with the Damen situation. Dad, Bobby, and Mitch even tried searching him out, but they never found any trace of him. I wasn't surprised by this. If anyone could hide or get away with something, it was Damen, and that made him a very dangerous individual.

We all kept a close eye on Lilly. She wasn't allowed to use the bus anymore. One of us always picked her up from school. However, I feared that no matter how careful we were, he would find a way to get to her.

During my lunch break at work, a call came in from Mom.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hey, baby," Mom said. "The school called me. Lilly has a fever. Do you want me to pick her up?"

"Um, yes. I probably should try to finish out the day. I can bring her into Urgent Care afterwards. Unless she seems really bad, then call me right away."

"Okay, I will," she said.

We hung up, and I headed back into the hospital.

I made it to the second floor of the hospital, where Physical therapy was. Halfway down the hall, I heard footsteps and deep voices.

"Did they say if his test came back yet?" a familiar voice asked.

"Not yet," another familiar voice said.

I stopped and turned around. A few MC members were coming down the hall. Lincoln kept walking straight as they turned to the right, heading towards Cardiology.

"Linc?" I asked, confused.

"Hey, baby," he said hastily. He grabbed my face between his hands and put his lips on mine. I hadn't seen him in a few days.

The kiss became wildly inappropriate for where we were. He wrapped one hand around my neck and placed the other on the small of my back, pulling me in closer. Our body language had to be obvious to almost anybody that if we could strip each other where we stood, we would.

I had to break the kiss. I was breathless. I was wet. I was hot. I was being glared at by my boss, Nancy. "Oh god," I muttered.

Lincoln turned and caught a glimpse of Nancy; she quickly took off.

Linc turned back to me with a smirk. "She can't do shit. You're on break."

I sighed. "Well, she doesn't think I keep good company."

"She's not wrong."

I laughed. "Way to stand up for yourself."

He shrugged. "Look, I just saw you, and I know you're busy, but I thought you might want to know about Mitch."

"What about him?"

"Where is he?" Dad asked as he and Bobby came down the hall.

"What's going on?" I asked, confused.

"I'm not sure if he's still seeing cardiology or if they sent him somewhere else," Linc told Dad, and then he turned to me. "Mitch might've had a heart attack. I don't know anything else.
