Mya's POV
Dad and Bryant practically jumped out of their seat when I came rushing into the waiting room. It must've been my panicked expression. I felt sick to my stomach.
"Can I talk to you?" I said to Dad. I put Lilly in Kelly's lap and strode away.
Bobby, Dad, and Bryant followed after me.
"Mya, what is it?" Dad asked.
I turned a corner in the long hall and wanted to be sure nobody was in earshot. I turned to face them. "I'm pretty sure Damen is outside by my car," I said.
Bryant stiffened. "Where is Linc?"
"He went home. The kids would be off the bus soon."
Dad crossed his arms over his chest. The tendons in his neck stuck out. "I'm going out there. That son of a bitch is done messing with you." The venom in my father's voice couldn't be mistaken.
"I'm going too," Bobby and Bryant said simultaneously.
"You have to be careful," I warned. "Don't wear that cut. Anything you do to him could land on the MC."
Bryant shrugged. "I don't care."
"He's an FBI agent. He could've opened a case against you guys for all we know," I argued.
"Take it off," Dad said. "We don't need that level of shit right now."
Bryant refused to argue with my dad. They didn't have time to argue if they were going to catch him. I watched them disappear into the elevators before going back to the waiting room.
The ticking of the clock was much louder than usual. Kelly stared at me in wonder.
"What's going on?" she whispered.
"Bryant will tell you later," I said. "Don't worry too much." I gave her the best reassuring smile that I could manage.
Ten minutes passed, and they came back. Dad held something in his hand, but didn't speak. He nodded me in the direction of where we had spoken earlier. I put Lilly back in Kelly's lap again and stood up. My knees felt as if they were made of Jell-O.
Dad, Bryant, and Bobby looked concerned. If it had taken them such a brief time outside, there was no way they had caught up with Damen.
"This is all we found. Mya, we talked about it a little bit, and we wonder if he tampered with your car. Bobby is going to go get the tow truck and bring it back to the shop so we can take a good look at it. We called Linc to come pick you up," Dad explained, and handed the letter to me.
I opened the piece of paper and noticed right away that it had been typed just like the last one I received.
Dear Mya,
One day, we will be together, whether you like it or not. Don't think I don't know about your biker boy toy. If you continue to see him, things won't end well for him and his siblings. We crossed paths for a reason. We were meant to be together forever. Nobody will stand in the way of our future together. I promise.
