Mya's POV
After the call I received, Linc refused to let me or the kids out of his sight. A few days had passed, and we were finally moving into the new house. Linc refused to keep any old furniture, except for the kids' beds, because they were new. Linc wanted a king-sized bed, and he let me pick it out.
Linc carried a heavy box and somehow managed to pinch my ass on the way in the door.
"Ow," I growled and smacked his arm.
He chuckled.
"That's not funny."
"Oh, come on, cupcake. Lighten up."
"I'll show you lighten up," I grumbled in irritation.
There was almost nothing left to do, so we sent the guys home.
Jarrod would be going home in a couple of days, so we set the housewarming party for Saturday. We had more than one reason to celebrate.
Dani stayed with Charles, along with the kids, to give us some alone time in the new house. Linc made a joke earlier about christening the house. Actually, he was probably serious.
"If those movers don't show soon, we're going to be sleeping on the floor," I said as I peered out the window at the darkening sky.
"They'll be here, Momma." He wrapped his arms around my waist.
"This place is unbelievable," I said and smiled. "I love it. It's like a dream home. Well, almost."
"Almost?" he asked.
"There are a few things I wouldn't mind changing, of course."
"Of course," he mocked.
I smiled and rested my head against his shoulder.
"So... since we don't have a bed," he started. His voice was thick with humor. "There's a couch, a shower, a tub, a table-"
"Linc," I said and laughed.
The doorbell rang then.
"Damn," Linc muttered and left to answer the door.
The movers showed up with the rest of the furniture. Linc helped them and directed them to which room. I started unpacking the kitchen. I loaded the dishes into the dishwasher and did a simple, quick wash on them.
For tonight, we agreed to order a pizza for dinner because we still had a lot to do. Tomorrow wouldn't be any less chaotic, especially since the kids would be coming home.
Linc came downstairs and answered the door. I reminded him to be nice and tip the delivery guy generously since it showed up on time. He rolled his eyes at that.
I grabbed a couple of plates and sodas and took them to the living room. Linc came in with the pizza and put it on the coffee table. Linc managed to get the TV above the fireplace without my help and hung some pictures on the walls. A fire flickered in the stone fireplace. We watched the sitcom Mom as we ate.
"I'm stuffed," I muttered. "Now I'm not going to want to do anything."
"Except for me, of course," he joked.
"Of course," I agreed and climbed onto his lap, straddling him.
His eyes widened slightly, surprised. I sucked his bottom lip between my teeth. A deep throaty groan escaped him as he ground his hips against mine. Our lips moved in perfect unison. His fingernails dug into my hips. My body heated up, and butterflies flapped chaotically around my stomach.
