                                           --------------------Chapter Two--------------------

Ok, so they weren't moving. They're letting us go. But why? Ugh, I can almost scream with frustration! Continuing running towards the trees, I tried not to bounce the boy on my back to much. I could just see his face in the crook of my neck.

It was so peaceful. So innocent.

Staring into his face, I watched as the wind blew over his face, making his muddy brown hair brushed against his eyes. They fluttered open and he looked at me, his irises a stunning green. He sighed and settled down to sleep again, and I shifted him higher on my back.

I looked over at Ash, and he was staring at the boy, like I was.

"What are you looking at?" I spat at him, turning around to block his view of the boy.

"What do you care?" He spits back at me.

I growl at him, without meaning to, and he growls back. That brings me up short. Him to. He stares at me, with something in his eyes I can't decipher.

As I reached the trees, I stood behind one, the boy to the side. I could hear his steady breathing and it was comforting. The figures in the distance where gone, and the bell had stopped chiming.

There was a long dirt road, so I starting running down it, but not directing on it. More into the shadows on the side.

As I was about to step onto it, my body convulsed and I fell to my knees. I screamed, holding my head in my hands. I felt someone come up behind me, and rip the boy off my make, making him scream.

I twisted around and growled, but fell on the left side of my body. Ripples where travelling down my body and I felt myself being pulled inside myself. It felt different from being shoved out.

I felt my body changing into a different shape. My teeth became longer, claws grew on my hands and my feet turned to paws.

Ok, so I was changing into a wolf, that or I was dying. When I could finally bear to open my eyes again, I looked over to the little boy to see him in Ash's arms, crying.

Before I knew what I was doing I had Ash's arm in my jaw and bit down hard enough to draw blood. The boy fell to the ground in a heap, dust clouds rising around him.

I bit down on the back of his shirt, before swinging him onto my back. He gripped my fur and snuggled back into the space between my shoulder bones. I took off running at full speed, dirt flying everywhere behind me.

I could hear the thundering of paws behind me, so I whipped my head around only to see a black wolf chasing me. And he was fast.

But I am faster. Even as a human, I am a fast runner. With lean legs and a slim body, I look just like my Mum. I miss her so much.
