I just wanted to dedicate this chapter to my best friend Katerina, who has been giving me a tonne of constructive critisism.

Thanks Kat!!! ;)

                               -------------------- Chapter Nine --------------------

(Ari's POV)

I watched him run off. I felt shocked, but my heart hurt to see him run. I had walked up to see what he was looking at and saw the reflection in the water.

It was his black wolf face, but only half of it. I looked down and my white wolf face filled the other half.

When I saw it, it made butterflies set off in my stomach. Mt nose tingled when I smelled his citrus smell too. But then he ran off, leaving me alone. Why though?

I sulked off towards the back fence. My head was down, my tail motionless and my eyes downcast. I was enjoying running with him, I realise.

I jump the fence, barely paying attention. I realise I was whimpering, quite loudly. I looked up to see all my brothers sitting and staring at me.

"Come slinking back have ya?" Riley asks.

"So not in the mood Riley." I reply sourly, lifting my head.

"What's wrong with you anyway?" He asks. It was starting to pester me.

"None of you business!" I snap at him, turning around and jumping back over the fence. I could still hear them talking among themselves, but I didn't care.

I was in my own little world, wondering around. Before I realised where I was, I was back at the boulder where I was earlier. I didn't jump back up on it, and the sun wasn't shining anymore.

I wandered over to the river bank and looked in at my reflection. Only half my face was there and seeing that broke me down.

I sank down onto the grass, my head on my paws. I was whimpering, and I didn't notice the grey wolf come over to me until it was lying next to me.

"What's wrong?" Andre asks. He was the only one here, and we were the only one's using mind link.

"Nothing's wrong Andre. And anyway, if I said so you would laugh at me. Or kill me."

"No I wouldn't. What happened when you were kidnapped? And today?" He asks gently.

So I tell him. Leaving out the bits with Ash, when he was making me feel better.

When I finish, he looks at me with pity. I look away.

"Buts that are not what's bothering you? Tell me." He pleads softly.

"I can't, you'd hate me!" I say looking up at him.

"I won't hate you. Tell me Ari. I won't tell the other, promise."

"Promise?" I ask.

"I promise." He reassures.

So I tell him, leaving out no details about what happened with Ash. I watch as Andre's body stiffens slightly, and I cringe away.

"That's not good." He mutters.

"Why? What does it mean?" I ask, getting a bit jittery.

"Maybe you should go ask him yourself. It's not for me to tell you Ari." He says sadly. What does he mean; it's not for him to tell me?

"Go, you have to." He says in his alpha voice.

"I don't know if you noticed or not, but for some reason your alpha commands don't work on me Andre Anderson." I say, using his full name.
